Odd Liquid on New Shipment

Today I received my Joye Super eGo kit in the mail from ecigbestsave.com. When I opened it I noticed on both e-cigs there was this liquid on the outside and inside of the atomizer that seemed to give off a somewhat chemical odor. I e-mailed the company and they replied saying it's a PG-based solution that joyetech applies to prevent corrosion and that it's harmless. I was curious because I didn't notice it on my 510 kit that I received a couple weeks ago. Anyone else notice this solution on their atomizers in new shipments?

Its normal for a new atomizer to have stuff in it. Its always good to blow it out, and prime it with your own juice.

You'll want to wipe it off, and blow through the atty before using. It's a protective coating, and will taste really bad if you try to vape without cleaning it. After wiping and blowing through it, put a couple drops of liquid in the atty and take a few drags without inhaling. Then proceed as usual, and if the taste is still off, do a few more drags without inhaling until the yucky taste is gone.

Well, I'm a new vape-head as well, however, if the attys have a scent of WD-40....that's odd.

All of them I've received had this PG fluid in it which is applied as an corrosion protection, but it did NOT smell like WD-40....I could not smell anything....

I would give them a good clean, maybe even cooking water..? You'll find some great instruction how to clean attys in this forum...

Yeah, you will find that primer has a very nasty taste that challenges (even after blowing the atty out) even the strongest juice to mask it. If you get to a point where you are ordering attys ahead of time, try a good rubbing alcohol soak, blow the attys out afterward and let them air dry for at least 24 hours (some have been able to get by with a shorter or altered drying method or cycle). Something I use to store extra attys in is an empty prescription bottle with one of those "silicon" (not sure exactly what it is, but they use cartridges of it to keep some medications from accumulating moisture) cartridges that came with the medication.
