Just got a protank in from exhalevapors (sweet deal, 14.04 shipped, thanks!), and for the first day I. WAS. IN. LOVE. Huge plumes of vapor, all my juices taste great and it's consistent from the top of the tank to the last .5ml or so. Wonderful.

Jump forward 24 hours, and I'm getting some stiffled hits. No odd flavor or anything like that, just not producing like it was yesterday. It's almost time to fill the tank anyway, so I pull it apart, fill up the tank, and dry burn the head a few times (semantics, the head wasn't dry, just vaping off the liquid that's already on the wick), trying to see if maybe it just gunked up a little bit and needed some hard pulls or something to get the flow moving again. Put the tank back on, refuses to fire. Check the ohms (vamo v2) and it reads 9.9. Mmkay, so i'm shorting somewhere. Screw the tank back off, head fires perfectly fine. Check the ohms, 1.9. Put the tank back on, back to 9.9 and no fire. No, i'm not over/under screwing the base, i've tried it from tight tight to barely staying the threads, and everywhere in between. No fire.

tl;dr: protank head fires, put tank on, no fire.

Anyone else run into this problem?

You could be forcing the center pin up into the head and causing a short. Protanks on my Bombshell stinger will do this. If you have pulled a head apart before you will notice that the insulator is kind of squishy and you can deform it enough to cause the pin to short out. If you have a popped head, take the little insulator rubber thingy out of it and cut the fat end off to use as a spacer, put it on a center pin of a good head before you put it back in, it will make the pin stick out a bit further from the 510 connecter but it should keep you from shorting the head out, also works good if you have trouble with the pin making contact with you mod.
