Odd questions about vaping out in public?

smokers that have some wish to quit are asking more info 2
i do see a positive trend
i still get the odd look now and then of people who dont have a clue
It happens, but usually from other vapers, like what mod it that, how low is your coil, whatever.
Just once, and it was from a smoker. So I told him what it was. He still seemed interested so then I told where I got it from.
The most common question I get asked is if they really work to help you stop smoking and if they reduce the smokers cough. This is usually asked by smokers who see me puffing away at smoking areas.
My answer is always the same. I was a pack+ per day smoker for 30 years, I haven't smoked in over 2 years, and I can't remember the last time I coughed without being genuinely sick. So yes, they work, and yes, they eliminate smokers cough.

I used to get a Lot of Questions. Couldn't seem to go out and Not get them. Not as many Now.

Not often. Today (in the city) I was minding my own business and saw a chap vaping at the door to an office. I recognized the mod (Siegelei 150) so though't I see how he liked it. So I said hi. 
With my mod hidden in my coat, he thought he would educate me in the ways of the force. After showing off his subtank, I reached into the left pocket and "ta-da!" pulled out another subtank, only mine is entirely clear (acrylic bell cap) and he's like "that is cool!!"
I love these moments. Much more fun talking to other vapers, especially with mods more 'serious' than I use.

Yesterday at work another vaper there in the holding lot asked me what settings I use on my mech. (LOL!) I told him just one, ON. I had to explain to him what a mech was, and when he got it, he told me "Those things scare me!"
Maybe it is because of my age (mid 30s) but I still feel like it is a secret society here in Columbus (Ohio).
So what is the official vaper solidarity gesture? I want to make sure I got it right. I figure it must be something like slightly raising your mod along with a quick nod.

I love the questions. I actually to to engage people at the 'smoke hole' outisde of stores and malls. I walk up, pull my mod from my coat and blast away. I vape fruity juices and blends and they get a whiff of what I'm puffing on and they smell and say 'Wow that smells good' which will engage the Q&A period. It always ends with my standard comment...feel free to use it.

Some ask me if they have juice that tastes like a cigarette...I say, 'Sorry. I don't think they make a juice flavored like a fart.'
Statements like that are the reason I shouldn't be allowed in the general population.

I tend to get one of two different kinds of people. First are the fellow vapers that want to talk "shop". I enjoy that. The other are people asking if I have heard that "those things" are unsafe and will blow up at any minute. It is amazing to me the ignorance of people who think they know all about something but really don't have a clue.

People still look at me like I have horns coming out of my head...lol..I think they think it's drug related or just like cigarette smoke....if only they knew the flavors I'm vaping.
I was standing in a smoking area and was questioned over whats in it as they could smell fruit. One of the smokers asked me to move as the smell was spoiling her cig.
I get asked a lot if it helped me quit smoking... which it did. the last cig i smoked was outside the vape store in which i bought my first vape. I get the "good luck when it blows up in my face" statement a lot in which i just reply that i use a regulated mod (sigilli 200w) in which the odds of it blowing up in my face a waaaayyyy lower. other than that i get a few questions here and there about how it works and such.
Always get this question about does it have nicotine in it--------I say yes and no---- it is what ever you want it to be no nic or some nic.... and then
they look at me with a question look on their face even more confused like I've just got off the starship Enterprise and about
to show them my --"Beam me Up Scotty Device"........which I received from that weird guy on Lord Of The Rings........

Not too many questions, due to the area population, everyone and their grandma thinks it's "other" stuff... always get that dirty look whenever I'm in public :/

They asked me is that one of those new electronic cigarettes----and doesn't it contain some form of chemical used in anti-freeze..
does it have nicotine in it and if so what is the point of doing it.....Those things can kill you...it is worse than smoking.......
