Newbie here... I have to say this site has some of the best commentary on vaping. I've been lurking for a few days and decided to register and participate.

I purchased the SmokeTip starter kit before I had read up on the Bloog or Vapor 4 Life brand but I have to say I'm thoroughly satisfied. I switched cold turkey from analog to SmokeTip 6 days ago and haven't had ANY cravings for an analog in the past 2-3 days... Overall, fantastic results.

One lingering question and I'm wondering if it's just me or if this will pass in a few days. Does anyone experience an odd taste in their mouth, almost like it's coated in whatever flavor you're vaping?

Thanks!

Sometimes I get this and it just depends on what I'm vaping and how long I've been vaping it. Drinking water, eating some crusty bread and using mouthwash or brushing my tongue all help to get rid of it. Hope this helps!

Thanks! Do you notice it gets progressively worse tasting until you actually clean your mouth (brushing + mouthwash)? Do you think it's a direct result of the e-juice in the SmokeTip cartos or is this common with all different types of e-juice?

It doesn't usually get worse, at least for me, but it is noticeable. This will apply to any juice, not just the juice in the Smoke Tip cartos. I usually drink water throughout the day and only use the bread/mouth cleaning when it/if the taste really starts interfering with other tastes. It also depends on whether I'm sick or not. I've been nursing a cold for a couple of days and it just seems like I always have that "film" in my mouth.

Thanks again! That just confirms I'm not going crazy, my fiancee doesn't seem to notice the "taste" and film.

I started with SmokeTip 2 months ago. I think it's just a different sensation as you get away from the analogs, I had that filmy, odd taste at first too. Maybe the taste buds are waking up for you. When I try a different flavor now I can actually taste the main flavor and subtle undertones, some are more attractive than others. I prefer a tobacco flavor. And I drink a lot more water than I used to.

Sometimes it depends on what you have eaten too.

Definitely. I'm starting to notice it's most apparent when I haven't eaten in a while.

It's probably a lot better than a mouth tasting like cigarettes :)

Without a doubt!

yeah i get that coated feeling when vaping for like an hour and not rinsing out my mouth...so it is common..

I wonder if the nicotine is partly responsible, my fiancée seems to think my tastes different with the nicotine.

It's good to know that this will subside or at the very least I'll get used to it.

I think the common theme here is that I really just need to up my water intake, eat a bit more frequently and ultimately just deal with it. Thanks everyone! :thumb:
