After 3 days of continuous vaping on a new ego-t atty it was getting pretty hard to draw and the flavor was getting even more muted. I cleaned the atty like I have been cleaning my regular 510 attys by giving it a warm alcahol bath for about 15 minutes. When I dried it with a paper towel the black finish came off. Now it's a shiny sliver. It's vapeing better than ever with more flavor.

That was about a week ago. I was going to contact my vender but it's been working so good I don't want to jinx it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Ok, just my take, but it is hard to come up with a possible reason why the coating would have any effect on your vaping experience. Your cleaning, however, likely did have an impact and is probably the factor responsible for the improvement. BTW, after an alcohol clean I have also seen the coating chip on my tank atty, presumably from the drying effect of the alcohol.

Have you had this problem with 510 atty's? I've had it on one of my 510's. Only had two. and on one of my eGo mega atty's. I cleaned them both with alcohol. I'm not sure if its the alcohol or the e juice. I've had ejuice leak a bit where the cart and atomizer meet.

No, never had a problem with the 510s. However, they were EM attys where as the ego tank atty is Joye.

hehehe I 'stole' the riva 510 cone and replaced it with my riva 901 cone when I bought one for someone, I figured the shorter cone would be better on their shorter atty and vice versa for me.... well I got myself some cartomisers and guess what, they are too fat for the cone! I had to peel off the sticky black plastic 'jacket' they have on and they are a lovely shiny steel underneath and now fit my cone lovely.

Yeah I know it isnt quite alchohol, or tank related, but it reminded me!

Wow, I thought I was the only one! I guess next time I won't just drown the whole atomizer for over a minute now :p

I will continue to use this method on this atty since there is no more paint to damage. If I get another tank atty I may do it differrently. Maybe not. I'm not too worried about color coordination. If you saw the way I dress you would understand.
