I was visiting my Chicago suburban hometown last weekend. It’s one of the few decent-sized towns in the area that doesn’t restrict indoor vaping to any capacity. We were out at a family-friendly bar/restaurant, and I noticed something pretty remarkable: the occasional stench of people returning inside from a smoke break was much stronger than I’ve accustomed myself to lately. But then, a couple guys next to me started juuling. Call me crazy, but I almost got up to thank them for “clearing the air” and making themselves healthier in the process.

I'll share my story. Last weekend I attended a live rock show (Pink Floyd tribute band) in Columbus at the Newport Lounge, just off of the Ohio State University campus. Just before the show started, some stranger asked me if there was someplace for smokers to go smoke. I said I really don't think so, but that I vape and planned to go into a bathroom stall if I had to vape. I hadn't seen any No Smoking signs, but I did see a sign that said no re-admittance if you leave the lounge.

Well, right before the lights went down, I saw some cloud chaser blow a plume into the air amongst the standing room only crowd on the floor in front of the stage. Then someone else did the same. Once the lights went down and the band began to play, the aroma of that "other stuff" that isn't tobacco filled the air. I guess that's to be expected when you go to hear Pink Floyd music, complete with laser lights and fog effects. :)

I had brought a little MTL stealth vape device with me, and openly vaped during the entire show from my spot. I still tried to be respectful of those around me taking care not to make any clouds, not that I make a habit of it.
