Having said that, the term is in wide use besides in this industry. You're probably most likely to hear it when buying replacement parts for your vehicle, for example... there are the cheap knockoff parts, and there are the more expensive, better quality "OEM" parts, that are either the original ones actually used in the vehicle, or that meet the same standards... Of course, the reverse is true at V4L -- their products are way better than the OEM stuff they resell, by a long shot, IMO.
