This was inspired by another thread, but it seemed to deserve its own so not to take away from the persons own story.
Its clear that people are confused about the mixed-messages being tossed about lately. Let me illustrate.
Members: do not post any critical material about CAN suppliers otherwise you may be banned.
How else is this supposed to be interpreted except to say that unless you are pumping sunshine up a vendors (_!_) you may not post about them? That same message goes on with adding a political view including that the battle is with the government. How does that matter in vendor/consumer discussions? And it was suggested that this message was due to inter-vendor fighting. Well, if theyre throwing each other under the bus, deal with them, dont tell the public to be silent.
Negative Vendor reviews ARE allowed..... in the proper sub forum that was created for them
If thats the case, then all Praise The Vendor posts should also be posted in the areas created for such reviews. It cant work both ways.
The problem I see with the Vendor Review sections is that its populated with American vendors and when a Canadian vendor gets mentioned, it soon gets lost. Maybe we need our own little sub-forum for all reviews, good and bad.
Posts regarding Can vendors got deleted, members were banned, yet we cant get answers because thats only for the powers that be to know. Its not the business of those who populate this place. This is a fine rule to have in order to protect the privacy/reputation of a member, but when one wonders why entire threads are deleted in specific forums, it should be addressed without pointing to anyone in specific.
The lack of answers, clear answers, from the powers that be is what created this drama/conspiracy theory/reading into things. Its not like this discussion happened all within hours, its been days. This seems like its been dealt in the same manner that is criticized of the government.
