% of PG & or VG & Filled Cartridges?

Hi,
I'm still confused on all of this (sorry).. I just ordered my FIRST E-cig kit (RIVA) & I'm waiting by the mailbox LOL... I want to order the e-liquids, Can anyone suggest what % of PG & VG to get?? Also, I'd like to order the ROUND type empty cartridges, where would I find those for a Riva (in the kit in comes with the flat type w/ RED) I'm guessing that's a filled cartridge? I'd like to order some U.S.A made filled cartridges, I'm a heavy smoker & would like some for just a "Grab n Go" if I had to ...
Any help would be sooo appreciated...

Okay....the "RED" probably means "Marlboro red"....or their version of it. Just reg. tobacco that comes in the carts. You can get empty round-tip carts anywhere....they're cheap (empty) and you fill them yourself. I'll get a link or two in a minute. Now, PG/VG.....lots of people like a mix of 80%PG/20%VG. I like a little more VG, actually. When I placed my first order with VaporBomb.com for juice, I asked about it and they suggest I start with 50/50 and see from there if I had preferences. That's what I'd suggest for you. Also, VaporBomb.com is an awesome supplier for juice...and very helpful. Now....anyone who sells e-cigs will have empty carts (round-tip ones)....I know that http://www.tastyvapor.us/blank-cartridges-p-172.html?cPath=15 has some really cheap prices right now on their hardware because they're getting out of that and back into just juice. Oops....now I see you're asking for filled carts. Well...I don't know for sure because I fill my own (as do almost all of us, I think) with good juice. I really suggest getting blank cartridges and some delicious juice and filling your own. It's very, very easy....then just carry as many as you need with you.

I think to most popular % to start at is 80%PG/20%VG and adjust from there. Depending on the vendor you order from some do not have opitions for changing % and some do but may not be avail for all the flavors they produce. The riva is a 510. As long as you did not order a "mega atty" (I don't know if you can in a kit) any regular 510 cart should fit. Most prefilled carts do not seem to have good juice so get blanks and fill them. Also many people don't care for the orginal filler in carts and "mod" there carts to eitheir hold more juice or provide quicker "flow"to the atty. You can look here about cart mods Cartridge Mods - E-Cigarette Forum. Some do not like carts and either use a carto (cartridge and atomizer combined into one unit) or direct drip the liquid onto the attty.

I have found that except for 100% VG, atty flow/wicking seems more dependent on the filler material and how new/clean it is than anything else.

I started with 100% PG and have since moved to 75/25% PG/VG to get more vapor.

I'm now thinking of trying 50/50 and see how that goes.

Most people go with what works best for them. Some have PG alergies, others go with more VG for less throat hit. Finding what works for you shouldn't take too long and over time, you'll get the hang of what wick setup works best for your PV and atty combo.

Great, that was the other place I wanted to order a couple bottle from VaporBomb.com ..I emailed him last weekend with no response so I was a lil reluctant to order from them. I ordered a couple from Backwoods Brew & I think he said his mixture was 80 20, so I'm assuming it is 80%PG & 20% VG.. I'll probably want a great throat hit & if I remember right what I had read, the more VG you get the less throat hit?

I keep reading over & over & can't seem to get the whole "Cart or Carto", how it works, which is best or easier to use ect... I guess I'll understand the whole concept more when I start using the E-cig.

YES you can! You won't believe how "do-able" it is! I smoked 1-2 packs a day for OVER 40 years!! and I quit the first week I got my PV. The Riva is good and you will be amazed at how easy it's gonna be. I actually didn't even intend to quit at first....I just wanted something to supplement my smoking because it was getting so expensive. I just really never thought I COULD quit, so I think I told myself I didn't want to. Then when I started vaping, OMG! I didn't even want a cig. But I kept thinking this had to be too good to be true. I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall. lol. The first few days, I would go try to smoke a cigarette because I just KNEW I must one....I just couldn't believe I could go for hours and hours and not even want one. Each one I had tasted soooooo bad (you'll see) that I hated it. Finally I realized that these really are miracle devices that really DO work. I have been smoke free for two months now.....and I still can't really believe it. This is the best kept secret in the world! I've tried to convert everyone I know because it's just so awesome. Good luck and keep us informed. I can't wait to hear from you after about two hours with your Riva. I love hearing stories from new vapers.......

Oh, and I don't know why you didn't get a response from VaporBomb, but they are GREAT. Their juices are delicious and they are really, really good people to work with. I've tried several juice vendors, and they remain my favorite. They ship fast and the stuff just can't be beat.

Hi Kim,
Welcome! I received my Ego on Thursday. I have smoked 5 analogs since then. I really never dreamed I would quit after 40 years. You will be amazed at how great this is. I am pretty sure the Riva and Ego are similar so you will be in for a suprise. I ordered the cartomizer with my kit. It is an atty and a cart in one. I got the mega carts they are a bit spendy but I love them. I am still on the first two carts I started with and they are working great! They hold a ton of juice and I refill them with a syringe, very easy. I didn't think in the beginning I could handle any of this (refills, etc) but it is actually kind of fun.

I am too new to advise on the juice but so far I like all I have tried, some more than others. I really needed the throat hit too. I am on 24 mg of nicotine but thinking I need to lower it. I think maybe starting lower 12-18 is a good idea and have some 24 to play with, wish I had done that.

You will be truly amazed at how well this works, I know I am! Had a doc appointment yesterday and my lungs have no wheeze for the first time in years, this after only a few days!!!!!!!!!! Think what a month will do.

You can quit smoking analogs, If I can after 45years of 1.5 PAD you can. I stoped the day I starting vaping. Good Luck

I hope that you are able to quit right away, but don't be too disappointed if it takes a while to find something you like. After smoking 2 packs a day for 30 years I am happy to be down to less than a fourth of that after 1 month. Maybe it's because I am a menthol smoker (vaper) that it's taking me a while but I am constantly making progress. Don't be overwhelmed by all of the choices and good luck.

Thank you everyone for all of the "positives"... I really needed that! When your life has revolved around analogs for almost 40 yrs, watching & taking care of a loved one who was dying from them & I still couldn't quit.. It kinda makes you feel you've made you're own destiny..Anyway, thank you for all the support. I will post after a day with my "new hope"...
p.s. Maybe my hubby will finally forgive me for turning down a FREE trip to Vegas (because I couldn't smoke on the plane)! ;(

Blanks carts will work

Standard wall charger will not work (can find an adpator but will take 3 to 4 times as long to charge so why bother unless you have regular 510 batteries to charge also)

Car charger will work but only with an usb ego or riva charger (may get one in your riva kit) however would get a charger that puts out 2A to give you the option of using a PT with it (a little harder to find)

Ego wall charger will work but also needs an ego / riva usb charger.
