Allen Carr's quit method assures me that I won't ever want to smoke again and I haven't in nearly four years, but I have gained a lot of weight. I am constantly eating. vaping seems like it would give me that flavor to satisfy food/taste cravings with the reward of a little nicotine instead of eating. I hated the taste of smoking, so perfect, yes? Just wondering if it's worth jeopardizing my quit, or if this would even count as starting back, or if it's just leading me right back to analogs.

Any one else with this experience?

Hard to say.

I think if I was in your shoes I would try to find a way of losing the weight without getting into e-cigs ... I mean you beat all that 4 years ago, and at some point I will also quit vaping completely.

I don't think becoming dependent on nicotine again is the best course of action to take, and would only consider that as a last resort, and even then that's questionable.

I don't know, find some weight loss program, see your doctor ... I would never advocate nic-vaping as a solution to anything but tobacco smoking.

I wouldn't do it. I think vaping has prevented any weight gain for me during the process of quitting but it certainly hasn't made me lose weight. Why take the chance on the possibility of heading down a slippery slope? Maybe substitute a 10 minute stretch/tone break and a glass of water for a snack break a few times throughout the day. Every few minutes adds up :)

P.S. I know my last suggestion is sometimes easier said than done lol

No one who has begun vaping except as part of a plan for smoking cessation?
Yes, eventually.

Since I had tried to quit smoking many times and failed continuously, I will take my time gradually running through the e-cig/vaping gamut before I step out completely. I'd like to see at least a year before I make that move.

My thoughts exactly. Just need to quit buying stuff all the time.

OP: Don't do it. Even though vaping is a lot less harmful than smoking, your lungs are designed to inhale/exhale air. Not smoke, not vapor.

Best case scenario you may drop a couple of pounds in the beginning, and then be stuck with a new habit. You'd be welcoming back into your world everything you've worked hard to overcome.

Constant worrying about how much battery life is left
How much juice do you have
How much will you need for the day/week
When should I order again to make sure I don't run out
How many backups do I need in case something breaks
What should I carry with me all day, every day, everywhere I go

Just some stuff to think about. Sooner or later I would like to give up vaping (and the above mentioned worries)

Totally agree with Hello World, you've beaten it all so don't turn back now. Quitting smoking is the probably one of the most difficult battles any of us will engage in. Congragtulations on getting to 4 years, you should be SO proud of yourself!

Quitting smoking was a decision you made for your health, losing weight will be the same. You can do anything foofyb, never give up!
