Got goaded into joining by some lurker comments... Here I be.

Have been smoking since a wee youngun, Have quit a few times in the past, cold turkey, gum, patches..

I liked smoking except for the smell and the back of my pea brain telling me I was killing myself.

Been lurking here for over a year, knew none of this would work out for me if I couldn't get my better half to go along with me.

It finally happened a few weeks back, so we're off and running.

THANK YOU TO THE VETERANS OF THIS SITE FOR BEING SO FORTHCOMING WITH INFORMATION.

From a 2 pack a day addict to a 3 stick as of now and by the end of this week plan to be done with them for good I say THANK YOU AGAIN!

Now to get those 5 posts in and be a part of this.:D

Hi Daffie and welcome aboard!

Congrats on the progress so far! Every cig you don't smoke is a victory!

Happy Vaping!

If I were you, I might consider going right for some decent gear rather than building up.

My only lament is all the money I spent on vaping equipment while I was still getting my feet wet: $35 or so for an EVOD starter kit. $20 for a Protank 2. $8 for an variable air regulator for the Protank. $30 on an Innokin VV3. That's almost $100 worth of stuff that I don't use anymore. Now I'm using an eLeaf iStick 50W and a Kanger Subtank Mini. Together, those were about $80.

It's just something to keep in mind. It's probably a good idea to start out with something simple, but if you decide you want more, save the money for what you really want rather than seeing if maybe the kit that's just one step better than your existing one will do.

Also look into DIY juice making. I jumped in and went down that road from the start. It's really pretty easy. There is massive money to be saved there. Of course, it depends on whether it's worth the effort to you or not.

Congrats and good luck, Daffie! I am trying to quit the analogs, too, but can't seem to get rid of the ones with my am coffee.

That was my hardest one to give up too. Sitting back and smoking that cigarette as the sun is coming up, 10 minutes before I have to go to work was one of the best parts of my day (sad as that is). I still get it, but I've found the best way is to keep a bottle of juice with a higher nicotine concentration just for that occasion. I just put a bit of that on my dripping atomizer and it does the trick. I still get that "I want a cigarette feeling" after my coffee, but the strong nicotine hit cures it, and since I don't have any cigarettes around anyways, there's no chance of cheating. That's important too. Don't have any cigarettes in the house. None.

A big wallop of nicotine (just below the point of an unpleasant OD) cures all desires for cigarettes. ;)

I have pretty much followed that same path. Evod and ts3's sitting on the counter now. Went with the Kanger KBox and Subtank mini's last week.

Got some KGD, Kanthal, VG,PG,Nic Base, and a couple of flavors on the way, should have some of it today maybe all of it. Pretty much have all the tools and have read and watched more youtube in the last month than I have in the last decade..

And this makes 5!!
I've been pondering this change for some time but what really kicked it into gear is the fact that we take a vacation every year to Jamaica, last year they outlawed smoking in any public place. (Yeah tobacco products anyway LOL)

So as an alternative this seems to fit the bill. As I understand it even vaping there is covered by the law but at least it can be done more on the discreet side.

Other points to ponder for me were the obvious, no more smelling like an ashtray, having to go outside virtually everywhere to smoke, better for me healthwise (already feeling like I have more usable air when working). Cheaper than tobacco products, at least for now and I hope it stays that way!
