You know how the discharge process is. I'll be here for a while today still but thank god I won't be sleeping here.

Well, you didn't really "sleep" there at all, did ya? Nobody really sleeps in hospitals.

Glad to hear you are doing better and getting paroled. Take care of yourself and enjoy your own bed tonight!

Pssst...hey did ya hear?
Eric is planning his escape from the institution maybe tomorrow.

He's gonna take a bunch of bed sheets, tie them together & climb out the window. But he has to be stealth lest the other inmates discover his plan.

Hmmm...those of us in the inner circle together with outer circle are all rootin for him. Yay!!

I actually had to "break out" of the hospital a few years ago. One Dr. discharged me and as I'm being wheeled down the hall to go home another dr. said I couldn't leave yet. The nurse looked and me and said "what do you want to do?" to which I replied "RUN!" My husband thought we were nuts when we came busting out the door laughing our asses off! I got a serious ... chewing when I had to go see him for a followup.

I like your spirit. I would have done the same thing. I hate hospitals. When I went in for my first surgery, my surgeon said I would be in for five days. After surgery, I made myself get out of bed and walk standing straight up with a smile pasted on my face. I lapped the nurses station about fifty times a day, always saying hi so they would notice how well I was doing. My surgeon said I was doing so well that for the first time in his thirty years of operating, he was going to let me go home on day three instead of day five. Mission accomplished. I did the same thing with my other surgeries. I will do anything to get out of there. The nurses are always really nice and take good care of me, but I just want to go home. My third surgery was an emergency surgery and I had to be in for two weeks. I almost lost my mind.

Three cheers for that nurse for giving you the option. Some would have wheeled you right back to your room. I'll bet being at home was worth every bit of that ...-chewing!

I'm not a good patient! The dr. that didn't want to let me leave was disliked by everyone at that hospital. He actually called two of the other drs treating me "a**holes" in front of me. When I went back for the follow up all he cared about was the fact that I smoked and threw a script for Chantix at me. No mention of what caused my vasculitis and what they were going to do about it. My husband, who never makes a scene (that's my job lol) threw a fit and told him off. Even his nurse was laughing behind his back. I refused to ever see him again and did file a compaint with the hospital about the comment he made about the other drs. A friend of mine had tried Chantix and told me horror stories about it so I threw the script away. I was on so much prednisone at that time and had a severe case of "roid rage". Can't imagine if I had taken Chantix on top of that!

Great news friends. I'm going home today.

My hemoglobin was a 3.8 when I got here. Now it's like a 7.5. 13 is normal but they said it's ok to go home. The GI Dr on staff said my blood was so low because I left the UC unchecked for so long, bleeding on and off over time my blood kept loosing and loosing. It felt normal to me. Always being fatigued and tired. It was so gradual it didn't cause alarm.

I'm pretty famous around here. "wow you were at a 3.8 I've never seen it that low"

I guess it proves I'm strong. Like winning a race running on fumes? First analogy I could think of.

If it wasn't for you guys and my wife visiting it would of been alot harder for me. Thanks again it means alot to me.

VFFV - vapers forever forever vapers!

I'm glad that you're better and getting out and all, but if it was that gradual how comes you weren't producing more to make up for the loss?

I hope the doctor has a serious treatment plan for your future.

Very very good point. You think my body would compensate for what I was loosing. I think diet could have alot to do with it. I eat pretty bad. Things like fast food,
frozen lasagna, hot pockets lol. I'm not overweight. 6' 188 lbs I just eat horrible.

I have an appointment with my new GI Dr on 3/25 which is my birthday. I'm going to try to get on a good regiment with medication and diet. Today is the first day of the rest of my life as the old cliche goes. I'm going to try to add a few years if I can help it.

Oh I'm home by the way. Just relaxing watching American Pickers. Great to see my son. We decided not to have him visit. I didn't want him to catch any crap from the hospital. I have a good amount of energy due to the stranger's blood btw. Example, I took a bath to get the stank out right when I got home. Now normally when I take a bath when I'm in there I'm dozing off, and when I try to get out it's hard and I feel lightheaded. I didn't feel sleepy at all in the bath today and I got out no problem. It was great.

Thanks again everyone for being there for me guys. You are all family to me now. A few happy tears did run when I was reading your comments at the hospital. It was like you were there with me.
