Who doesn't like puppies!! Got a new puppy 2 days ago, a 9 week old brindle Boxer, who I names Leonidas... don't know where Leonidas sprouts from? Read up on your ancient Sparta history... or watch 300 if you want a fictional run down!

He should be a pretty beefy boy, at 9 weeks he is already 17 lbs

Anywho, what's a puppy thread without some puppy pix? So enjoy these few :)

Stuffies were bad when Oreo was a puppy too. Tuff rubber works better until they get out of that chewing stage. Not only did he tear up his stuffies, he tore up his beds too. *sigh*

We got him a toy I think was called a Nobbly Wobbly, that lasted quite some time. Kongs are GREAT! You can stuff them with all kinds of stuff: p'nut butter, squeeze cheese, treats, yogurt, etc...you can freeze them too and it keeps them busy for hours!! (and a tired dog is a good dog!) If he seems to like tennis balls (mine being part retriever loves them), get REAL ones. (I get mine at Walmart in a bag like that, but not 48 of them!) Don't get the cheap ones that come in the big packs of different colors (I think they're called fun balls). They are cheap for a reason. They fall apart FAST, and swallowed rubber is bad...especially if it causes an obstruction. Most Nylabone products are good for chewing puppies too.

Mine LOVES this thing too, we've gone thru 2 cuz the other dog like to tear stuff up. She does it totally on purpose. It seems like it's covered in the same type of material that fire hoses are, but if she can tear it up, it must not be that strong, so you might want to hold off on something like that.

My youngest (in my profile pic) is 6 years old now, so he's outgrown the chewing stage and LOVES his stuffies and now will chew them, but doesn't tear them up. Be careful with the tug ropes too, they're ok for interactive play, but if left alone and he chews them up, swallowed strings can cause obstructions in the intestines too.

I want a Boxer baby too!!
