Rough day today. Have 1 guy out at work with surgery and 2 more not show up. Left me way short handed to get stuff out the door. Those 2 better show up tomorrow or someone or ones gonna be out the door. I got a huge shipment of engines going out tomorrow and I need everyone there to get them loaded. I don't care what you do on the weekend but to be out on Monday with beer flu don't cut it. Sorry for the rant.

I'm the Operations Manager of an Industrial engine shop. All that stuff out there running pumping units, drilling rigs, big generator sets, and stuff like that. Mostly oilfield related. We have 2 owners, 1 doesn't do anything and the other is an alcoholic. He drinks beer from the time he wakes up and is generally shat-faced by noon. Only thing that keeps me there is the $$$ and that isn't going to work much longer. I'm tired of baby sitting a bunch of grown men who are nothing more than parts changers and not a real mechanic in the bunch. At least the old manager had me to run the shop now I have to do both jobs. I have no one out there I can trust to get anything done. On one end I deal with a drunk micro manager and on the other a bunch of parts changers who are always POed at me for riding their butts.

Don't hold back buddy....tell me how you really feel...I'm sorry man. I feel your pain.
The owner of my company is cool....but his right hand man is a total duesch bag....and he has his 2-20 year old kids in very prominent positions.....
Both kids are overwhelmed and act like....well...20 year old kids.
I hate my job so bad......

But it pays the bills......

I keep inviting you to our little forum....you never come by....think you would like the knuckles in there.
We're all dumbasses, but we are very lovable dumbasses.

Nebraska vapers in the social forum. Come by and say hi.
Heck....we even get luminaries like Kent hanging out there.

Actually, we are pretty much caught up. There are still 20 in queue, but they are smaller orders that should be easy to hand-mix and get out. There were several $150+orders in the last round that made it filling them pretty intimidating. One order, a dozen bottles, hand mixed. Took about an hour just to fill a single order. Glad I am through the worst of it.

This sounds like torture to me. :(

Anyone have an Smoketech Octopus?? I can't post in the question thread, but I have a unit I really like that is being wonky... I changed the o-rings to #6 rings from Home Depot, so the cap is very snug - but the postive post now slides straight through the decking and comes out when I try to take the damn cap off. Thing is driving me bonkers.

That sure cuts into the profit margin :(

Try $50 bucks just for shipping 8 bottles of flavoring. Eh - cost of doing business. Part of the issue is my error, I neglected to account for using 1 flavor in three different mixes. It's hard to account for from an inventory perspective. One good review of Romantic Raspberry and I got blown out of flavoring in like 5 orders.

As an aside, I revisited Romantic Raspberry in ye'old Protank before the flavoring ran out - it's a damn good vape.

I have both and Octopus and a squid. No new holes drilled in them though. I don't use either one currently. What may you be needing?

Wondering if there is a fix to this broken Octopus. It seems like the deck pries up from the base, dropping the center post down through the deck. Every time I pop the cap I have to rebuild the coil. I'd might shave the o-rings just a hair and see if it loosens the fit of the cap a bit, they might be too fat.

As soon as I have zero in queue I am thinking of running a contest here on ECF - ideas?

Free juice with you hand delivering to where ever we live for the "booby prize"....lol
j/k Clark

But I suggest maybe a movie type contest or a story building contest. Don't know off hand. I'm sure someone can come up with something pretty cool.

I have never seen the deck come off. Let me try to find mine and I'll give it a look. I'll be back shortly.

Could you maybe wrap teflon tape around the base of the center post to hold it in place?
Does your center post have a rubber gasket holding it in place? (Mine does)
And I'm trying to break my deck but it is there pretty solidly.

Maybe something else to try...
On the center post if you could find a very small rubberband wrap it around the post with enough wraps until it's snug on the center pin. Then push it down to the deck which would keep it away from the coil and hold the pin in place. That way you wont need to shave the o-rings which would make the cap come off to easy causing juice to leak everywhere.
I'm out for tonight but let me know if any of that works or not. Or if you need me to post a couple of pics I can do that as well.
