Been vaping ?? Unknown ?? with 35/65 PG/VG mix at 12mG this afternoon using an SLB 3.0 ohm atty on the Darwin and Bloog/SI carto and battery. Thoughts so far:
- A little thick - drip filling a carto took a bit longer than usual.
- A little light on throat hit (likely to improve with higher nic/PG) but big, rich flavor.
- Plenty of vapor.
- Not a strong tobacco flavor, more of an undertone. More like mild tobacco leaf.
- I don't really sense any "smokey" from it (good thing, IMO).
- Sort of a lightly sweet, caramelized overtone; reminds me a bit of a roasted (not light, not heavy, just right to golden brown) marshmallow... but I say that mostly because I can't quite pin it down as anything else. I think part of that is the creaminess that seems to pervade the overall flavor. Maybe a bit buttery, but not screamingly so.
- Still a rich, full flavor, but a bit less of what I'd call the Prime Vaping "signature". Not a bad thing in this case.
- Brings to mind what I'd call a "grown up dessert" - very mildly nutty, creamy, not overly sweet.
- Chain-vaping brings out a very mildly spicy taste on the tongue, almost but not quite like the barest hint of cinnamon.
- Vapes well in the Bloog/SI carto. Loses some of the tobacco note, becomes more adult dessert-like. Very nice when the vapor's warm; I don't think I'd like this as much in a cooler system like an eGo-T.
- Vapes well in the atty. 4.2W (3.0 ohms @ 3.6V) it gets airy and loses a lot of flavor. 5.7W (3.0 ohm @ 4.2V) some flavor comes back but more on the exhale. 6.9W (3.0 ohm @ 5.1V) is about where I'd start for a cool, flavorful vape. At 8.4W (3.0 ohm @ 5.1V) it warms up and starts to shine, good flavor both ways. Above that the flavor becomes incrementally "brighter", almost like getting the just the slightest hint of clove, which maxes out at around 11.3W (3.0 ohms @ 6V). My personal favorite setting was at 10.2W (3.0 ohm @ 5.7V).
This is the first high-VG blend that I've really liked, and a flavor that I think will be well-suited for both those who just want a tasty vape and those who like to "think" about the flavor.
In the Bloog/SI cartos it has a very nice warmth with a slightly more smooth/caramel/nutty taste. All the nuances blend together well, easily making for a fill-and-forget all day vape. Unfortunately I did not have enough to judge what happens when topped off over a day (or two or three).
If you go the variable voltage/power route you can get a variety of nuances out of it. Go too low and you'll lose the flavor but crank it up to at least middlin' and you can really go exploring from there.
This is likely to be a winner for you guys. The only thing that sucks is that the sample is all gone now except for what's left in the carto, and I'm going to be milking that the rest of the night.
As for names, here's what comes to mind right away:
- Smooth Roller
- Dessert Joe (spelling intentional)
- More, Please!
- Memory Lane
Anywho... Thanks for the sample! Now to check out the rest of the new stash.
