I live in the suburb of a town that's called a city but isn't even found on 9 out of 10 maps. Never liked the city even though I spent half my childhood in one. Sure cities are great to visit every two or three years but I sure wouldn't want to live in one. I need to hear the sound that air makes, coyotes howling, Gossip Birds Gossiping and the screams of people losing their minds because they can't handle dealing with their own thoughts. I like that my grocery store is everywhere I go but I do sometimes like to buy stuff in bags boxes and cans. I like that my walls are as thick as those found on medieval castles and my roof is a parapet with a 360 degree vantage point in case of marauders. I like that I don't have to wave at my neighbors for months at a time if I don't feel like it, even though I may know all their names if asked to remember. I especially love that I don't have to buy any dang candy for all them moochers in Kim Kardashian or Spiderman costumes so I can save my $32 for tomorrow when I'll get $64 worth for the same price. I would never want to be caught at our hospital here as it's full of doctors that got kicked out of other states for malpractice. And I really like the taste of water that comes right from the ground and tastes like dirt.

I understand, I grew up in a town of about 1,000 where everybody knew everybody! I moved about 25 miles away to a city of 100,000 so mi kids would have more available schooling wise. I round trip 80 miles aday to work round trip. But that is just a short jaunt here! LOL. I prefer the country but becaus of my wife's health we have to stay in city!

Thanks guys! The bread is super tasty as well. Don't buy store bought at all anymore unless I'm too sick to bake it. Just tastes soooo much better and much more filling. Makes super great sammiches too! Same with noodles, homemade noodles just taste sooo much better and super fresh! And doesn't really take much more time either.

Got to go make a sponge starter for the next batch of bread.

HAGD everyone!

Happy All Saints Day everyone!

All Saints Day

When: November 1st

The Christian holiday of All Saint's Day honors and recognizes all of the saints of the christian church, many of which were martyrs. The church sets this day aside to celebrate over 10,000 recognized saints. Historically, All Saints Day was known as Hallomas.

Did you know? All Saints Day and All Souls Day was originally in May. They were moved to November 1st and 2and to downplay the Pagan holidays of Halloween (All Hallow's Eve) and Dia De Loss Muertos. Religious leaders felt these holidays were too popular at the time to ban outright. But, if moved the christian holidays to this time periods, the pagan holidays would slowly die away.......

Trying out some old-fashioned and depression style recipes and having a blast! Made some homemade raspberry shaved ice last night soooo nummers! Pretty similar to taste of a sno cone and super sweet...perhaps a bit too sweet but you don't eat a lot just a smidge. Sooo easy to make...smart Mama's back in the day I tell ya!

This morning I made a batch of depression style cookies, they are hard, dry and sweet but great dipped in hot coffee! Took less than 15 min to whip up and 20min to bake...quick easy breakfast esp for anyone who doesn't eat big anyway! The lady I got it from said they used to have these as a special treat once a week. Got more bread rising.

So what are everyone else's plans for today?
