I am mechanically challenged so I knew I would never ask for the right thing so what I did is print out the page from online at the ideal site and walked in the door and up to the customer service desk and showed them the print out and just told them that was what I needed and they took me right to it.

Seriously. I'm heading to Lowe's tomorrow with crossed fingers. When I searched online I typed noalox to the general Lowes site & at a few specific locations near me. When I searched noalox's company name, "ideal," I found a number of products but no noalox. I hope it's there...!

The "great place" Ft Hood
I ordered my SB from electronic-cigz.com & they have been good about getting back to me over this issue. They started carrying now & will likely be selling it on their site soon. Oh & there isn't a wait period for the SB from them as they are currently 'in stock' unlike altsmoke. FYI

I just hope you realize that the SB's they get are from the same place! and if altsmoke dont have them then the other place wont!

Finding noalox in a store is the biggest problem I've encountered. Since you don't need much of it, all you need is the smallest tube of the stuff & when you order it online the shipping fees cost double the price of the product. I'd really love it if they sold it in a Home Depot or radio shack or something. Anyone have any suggestions? It is crucial.

I doubt you'd find it at radio shack. However Home Depot and Lowes both should have it in the electrical section. Its made by 'Ideal Industries'. This is the item:
IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. - Noalox® Anti-Oxidant Compound

Another place that you might be able to find it would be a place that sells electrical supplies like Graybar, or Grainger. I picked up my bottle at Graybar.

Would antiseize from the auto supply store be similar? It keeps sparkplugs from seizing in aluminum engines...

This is what I used and it has worked perfectly. I couldn't find the Noalox so I when I was in the auto parts store they said that the antisieze worked the same way. They have small packets that are just the right size.

I hate to be the one to crash the party, don't get me wrong I love my SB and it preforms flawlessly, but I have now found a flaw in it. I'm not sure if its just mine or if others may have the same thing, but the threading on battery side, the very last thread is so thin that it's breaking off. I noticed a little edge when I cleaned the threading the first time that picked up some fuzz and thought nothing of it. Just now I went to clean the threads and put some fresh noalox on and one quarter of an inch of the threading BROKE off and it looks like there's another half of an inch or more that might be likely to break off. It has no effect on how it preforms yet, but if it keeps breaking off there could be a good one inch of threading that has broken off. I'm not so worried that it wont seal shut anymore as I am that I could get a metal sliver or have it cut into my finger when cleaning the threads.

At the end of any thread it has to taper off as these are machined threads not cut using a die. Seems unlikely that more than that first piece would break off. Use a nail file to clean that end up. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, shoot me a PM :)

The push or pull while twisting seems to be possible, but can not believe that's what it's from. It looks more so like the two halves were not screwed together all the way, fell and landed on the button side of the unit. The threads look bent down a bit so that's why I think it was more so from a drop then twisting it apart or together. Also can tell that the threads are machined. The bottom of the thread looks like it was cut straight instead of being tapered which lets it have enough flex to bend, think having it tapered would solve the bending. I don't mean to scare anyone off that may be looking to buy a SB, by no means don't let it scare you off, it's just something to consider and be mindful of, the SB is truly amazing. I will live with mine being like this, there's no way I will ever be without my SB.
