Hi Everyone!
My name is Stacy, I'm 31, and about a month ago, I bought my first vape starter kit. For about 2 weeks I didn't really give it much thought, and still smoked, but in the last week, I've been smoke free, and only been vaping. I have two vaping devices now, and I'm on the highest level of nicotine (2.4). I tend to vape most on my menthol flavors, and my cinnamon menthol, but I've started experimenting with candy and fruit flavors too, to eventually wean myself off the cigarette/menthol taste. I'm curious to know how others have made the switch, and how better they are feeling. My body is already going through the regular quit smoking steps. I can smell EVERYTHING now, my lungs are starting to clear out, (I'm starting to get a whole lot of phelgm) my face is already softer, only downside is I"m breaking out really bad but hopefully that will go away soon once my body adjusts to not smoking and I clear out the toxins. I didn't think I'd ever really want to quit, but here I am, no longer craving a real cigarette. I'm hoping sooner or later, I won't be as dependent on nicotine and can start going down in nicotine, maybe even to zero one day. How long did it take you guys to not want a real cigarette and prefer vaping? Only thing that still gets to me is smelling a burning cigarette, or smelling smoke on someone and makes me kind of want one, but so far, I haven't given in, in 7 days :)

Welcome to ECF! Grats on your 1 week smoke free. It took me about 2 months for other peoples smoke to be unpleasurable. Everytime I went to shopping or walmart type places and people outside smoking I was like mmmm that smells awsome. But that went away and now I feel it's repulsive :) Keep going! One day with no cigs is 1 more day you get healthier!

I have quit multiple times and always went back but right now I have been done for 2 1/2 mths and I feel this is for good now that I started vaping. That has really helped me. Even when I've been really stressed, normally I would grab my cigarettes, but now I grab my vaporizer and I'm good. What has helped me is finding a good juice that is what is close to what you use to smoke. I smoked menthol and the local vapor shop has an awesome mix, it tastes very close to a real cigarette. I've heard from some people that the craving never goes away. I still crave them but then I smell a smoker and it grosses me out. The worst part is knowing I use to smell like that. One thing that has made me proud is that 2 people have told me that I smell good and it was just my laundry soap in my clothes not smoke. Will power and determination is all you need! Good luck!

Nice not being tied to what is the cig ball and chain isn't it?!

Great start! what are you using for gear?

I found the reward system works well for me. X amount of time, buy a new vape toy. Every upgrade makes the experience that much better and the shiny stuff is yet another great distraction.

I like my pile of tangible shiny stuff way more than the huge pile of cigarette butts I would have added to the world..

Hi Stay. Only a week ahead of you, and glad to be here. No cravings for cigarettes at all, and I smoked for 40 years. First week, yes when I smelled the smoke I wanted one, but now at the end of my second week, the smoke has become "stinky". Smelling smoke on someone is disgusting to me and I can't believe I used to smell like that. We're on our way lady!

Welcome. I am just past the 2 week mark myself. I am still occasionally craving analogs but I blame living with smokers and stress for that. Though I am in the process of getting my step dad to switch over. Got his vape coming in the mail now. What device did you decide to start with? I started at first with the Vuse and then Green Smoke. Vuse showed me I could get off analogs. I ran out of cartridges though and fell back into analogs. Then I got the green smokes as a free sample from Green Smoke. Only had to pay shipping. It was alright at first and I stopped analogs. But then had the battery act up. I almost gave up hope but luckily someone sent me a good vape for free and I was saved. I am so happy I got it. I have an Itaste vv with a Kanger Aerotank mini. I couldn't be happier with it. I bet people on here are sick of hearing me mention it though. I tend to bring it up a lot lol

First off congratulations!
The smell of a freshly lit cigarette smells good to me. The urge to smoke got weaker with each passing day to only once in a while now and the cravings are not intense at all. But I still won't let my guard down because I know there will be a few more times that I get a surprise crave that I need to be ready for. As for the way my body feels, I can sum it up in one word AWESOME. I can breathe sooooo much better , the tightness in my chest is gone, don't need my inhaler but only once a month if that. As for acne mine is finally slowing down to one or two on my face now. Where as before I had too many to count ,it was terrible. I never broke out until I quit smoking. My advice to you is lower your nic when you are truly ready, don't rush it.

BIG congrats for your first week! I was a 2 PAD menthol smoker for more than 40 years. I still enjoy menthol, but often am vaping other flavors I now love just as much. My hub still smokes the same brand as I used to but now when he lights one, honestly, to me it smells just like a filter burning, it's AWFUL. Having said that, don't be surprised if out of the blue you body starts screaming "cigarette now!". All I can say is do your best to ignore it and vape till it passes. II stayed on 24 for a long time, am now at 18 but still keep some 24 menthol mixed with a bit of tobacco flavor just for those kind of ugly moments.

I can't believe how much better I feel, how much easier I breathe, how much better food tastes and how sharp my sense of smell has become. I promise, it keeps getting better and better! I look forward to hearing more from you!

I gotta post a bit of a retraction here. I caved earlier after posting this and smoked 1 analog. Still could be worse. Once again good job. I know it ain't easy.
