This Canadian post is directly related to Fedex and not ecigs, but it is just as disturbing as the ban on ecigs.

I ordered piracetam and other products from a company(www.smartpowders.com) last month and had the products shipped by Fedex. They got to my door a few days later when I had around fifty dollars in my pocket. Two weeks later I get a letter from Fedex.

We are charging you money... O.k... It must be duties... Fine.

Here are the charges:

4.32 - Customs duties - Fine
5.91 - HST - O.k.
10.00 - Advancement Fee - Huh?
1.30 - HST on Advancement Fee - Huh WTF?

My complaint is not the taxes or duty fees but that they did not ask for any duty fees and then charged an advancement fee. (I actually asked the deliverer if I owed anything, and he said no) Now I have to pay for the advancement fee and HST and postage on top of that? Perversion of capitalism at it's sleightest.

Ya, that stupid over inflated "Brokerage" fee scam !!! It's why I never use UPS or Fedex for ANYTHING anymore !!

Had UPS show up at my door demanding $92.00 brokerage fee for a (at the time) $49.00 battery (sent to me free under warranty) a few years ago..... Lets say the driver drove off quickly and scared at my reaction.

Now, I'll just wait the extra pain in the .... time it takes for USPS & CP.

yeah burned by this on a computer that the company i own in vegas shipped me in vancouver, so in effect i shipped myself something and had to pay customs and advancement fee ($170 or so) burned me in the ..., here is the thing thier "advancement fee" is a loan, so why can they charge 300% of the loaned amount? i believe the law is 26% on all loans here in canada, regardless its a crock of sh%t

Now we complained did anything change? Nope, I got to go find my check book for next time these idiots bend me over a log.
