Well, Vape Wild recommends steeping all their juices for at least 2 weeks because they are made fresh at time of shipping.

I was digging around in the juice drawer and came upon a long forgotten bottle of 18mg 50/50 Apple of my Ice that has to have been sitting in the back that drawer for at least 6 months.

It hasn't been shaken or "breathed" or anything. It was part of a larger order and got pushed to one side when i grew bored with the flavor or developed vaper's tongue and switched to something else.

Decided to load up a tank and give it a try. Steeped for 2 weeks to a month this juice tasted like jolly rancher sour apple candy on inhale with a hint of menthol on the exhale. It was my ADV for a while.

Ignored in a dark drawer for 6 months or so, it tastes of layered apples, almost a complex, aged cider flavor overlayed with a hint of pear. The exhale is mildly fruity with a coolness to it that can't quite be identified as menthol anymore.

I have some newer, lower nic juice in the same flavor that i am going to put away for several months. The change with the looooong steep is just amazing, especially as OOB, this juice has a throat hit that will take the top of your head off. Now it is smooooth, complex, and very tasty. I will save it as a before bed vape as it is a very relaxing, sort of soothing flavor. The juice barely changed colors from it's original clear during it's long period of steeping so I don't anticipate it gunking up coils.

This may be something to try with VW juices in general (if you have the patience). I am very pleasantly surprised.

Well, I've lost a little weight, and my left knee has gotten worse, but I don't think my palate has gotten THAT much more sophisticated, LOL!

I also don't think it's necessary to steep VW juices for 6 months. I do think some of their juices may need more than 2 weeks to reach optimal flavor

I know that their toffee and custard juices need a couple of months minimum. Their Candy Cane juice needs about 3 weeks and and a flavor shot. (Be wary of flavor shots with VW juices, especially with fruit flavors)

I don't know about their citrus juices as I'm allergic to citrus flavoring used in e-juices. A lot of people like them, though.

Haven't tried their tobacco juices so don't know.

Their blackberry ice is good and might be another one to try a looooong steep with. Peach and Peach Mango both tasted perfumy to me and steeping, while mellowing that, didn't get rid of it. I wound up vaping those forward to a neighbor who is a peach freak and loves them.

They're a good company, but their juices tend to be strongly flavored and can be harsh and hit hard if not steeped. Prices are excellent and customer service can't be beat. Neither can the prices.

How so?

I tried Watermelon after two weeks and found it harsh at 12mg. But then I tend to notice nicotine in the fruits more. A week later, still harsh. It's been moved to the back of the line while I try the rest (btw, even though Brown Cow is a coil gunker, it's delish) but I can't help but feel the harshness may be due to the extra flavor shot as I had the same thing happen with Candy Cane - and I've never had a problem with harshness from a menthol/mint in the past.

VW juices tend to go heavy on the flavoring to start with. With the fruit juices, especially, you can get a harsh, perfumey note if you up the flavoring. I vape Candy Cane at 12 mg with a flavor shot, but I'm a peppermint head of long standing. So long as it steeps long enough, I don't find it harsh.

I'm not a big fan of "dairy" or "pastry" juices as a rule, even VWs: they all seem to have a weird chemical taste to to me. I like some fruit flavors, and variations on mint and peppermint. Also love cinnamon.

What PG/VG % are you using. For me, I need to go at least 50/50. Higher PG than 50% and VW juices are too harsh for me, and of course, the flavor shot adds more PG.

I've found that the further out I get from the analogs, the less important throat hit is for me. When I first quit tobacco, I needed TH. Now, I like to feel the vapor at the back of my throat, but don't enjoy being grabbed by the tonsils.

I'm what the nice folks here refer to as a "tootle-puffer". I tried a sub-ohm mod at high wattage and nearly choked myself. I can tell you that the newer juices using the updated nic formulation are smoother.

You probably want to cut back on nic as well if you are going sub-ohm/high wattage. I'm currently vaping the "aged" Apple of my Ice at 12.5 watts/1.9 Ohm and it's very smooth.

50/50 and 12mg are my go tos. Try to try all new flavors at those "settings". While I have found a few flavors that are great most I've had to turn down the nic on. The bane of the ex menthol smoker. :( I like that VW has a 9mg for that reason.

Will have to give Candy Cane another try then. I do like the fact that their mints/menthol don't seem to have the nasty aftertaste that I've found with other brands.

Have you tried Wintergreen? Nice, mellow mint.
