Before anything I would like to say that I have fully considered that this is due to tobbacco cessasion. I do not want to put the blame on vaping, rather, I would like to see if anyone has experienced symptoms such as mine.

I noticed last night, After 10 days of quitting marlboro menthol 100's I was surfing youtube when I noticed a sort of cramping pain/sensation in my chest. about 2" to the right (my right looking down) of the bottom of my sternum. Noticed that it was a bit more pronounced after puffing my e cig. I left it to coincidence and went to bed shortly after.

This morning I woke up with no pain. I took a drive to dunkin D's and had a few vapes on the way there. As I got back home I had a few more vapes, Thats when I noticed the pain. Same thing as last night. I am now at work and I have takin maybe 5 or 6 puffs over the course of two hours. As I type this the pain is about the same intensity as last night. a 3 out of 10. Doesn't really hurt, It's just noticable. Almost like I pulled a muscle in there or something..

Yesterday I switched to 16mg from 11. I like it so much more and decided to stay on this lvl.

Thanks guys! Pete

I get that often, but I got it when I didn't smoke, when I smoked and when I vape. I have a condition called costochondritis which causes swelling in the tissues in my chest. They symptoms mimic a heart attack and I made many trips to the ER before I was correctly diagnosed.

It isn't an every day occurrence but it is aggravated by stress and poor diet.

The only vaping related chest pain that I've encountered is when I vape too heavily (especially before bed) and don't drink enough water. Then I wake up feeling like I've pulled a muscle in my chest, but it doesn't last very long.

Oh wow. Did you find out when you first started vaping or did you know about this beforehand? That must be a very scary experiencing :(

I'll echo going to the doc.

I have to say though, I had some weird .... going on when I first quit smoking and switched over. General body aches and pains, headaches* and heart burn*, among other things that I can't really remember anymore.

* I usually have frequent headaches and heart burn, but it was happening at odd times.

Now, 42 days in, I have a pretty nasty cold going on. Sore throat, stuffy nose/head. Headaches, GONE. Heartburn, GONE (except for what's caused by drainage due to this cold). I'm fairly certain it's my normal change of the seasons cold, but the thought has gone through my head that it could be damage to the throat finally getting some attention from my body, maybe lungs beginning to repair themselves...and then I flash over to "Well, I did just start vaping 100% vg regularly, maybe it's a reaction to that." but I'm fairly certain it's not. If anything, vaping helps how my throat feels, PG or VG.

I've been sick since Sunday, today seems the worst because my cough is starting to actually break some stuff up, but if I still feel this way come Friday I'll have to go see the doc because this is starting to feel too much like bronchitis.

Sorry for hijacking the thread...I guess I just wanted to let you know you're not alone ;).

I've battled a slew of auto immune system disorders pretty much my entire adult life. I was sick for 11 years (often bedridden for months at a time) before I was diagnosed. I have fibromyaliga, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, panic disorder, costochondritis, restless leg syndrome, migraines, and a sleeping disorder.

At one point my doctors told me that my body was waging an all out war on itself and destroying my muscle tissue and that I'd probably be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I came pretty close to ending it at that point, but instead I started doing research and found out that my issues were diet related.

The neurotransmitters in the brain require a certain number of specific nutrients to fire properly. When they don't fire properly, it creates a chemical imbalance in the brain that leads to everything from mood disorders to chronic illness. What's sad is that I had to find that out on my own... no doctor in 11 years told me that.

As long as I watch what I eat, maintain moderate exercise and try to keep my stress level managed, I'm fine. I can tell if I'm not eating right because my conditions will flare quickly.

This is why so many people in America are on medications. They are on the standard american diet of over processed, low nutrient foods. When I changed my diet, I was walking again on my own within 3 days and back to near full activity in about 10 days. Within a month, I'd dropped 15lbs and was working with a personal trainer.

The body is a machine and needs the right fuel. You can't put sugar in a gastank and expect a car to run.

Anyhow lol, I'll get off my soapbox :D

all right the samething happened to my dad when he quit smoking and started vaping he went to the dr right away and from the tar build up on his lungs starting to break up he got infection in the lining of his chest he had to take some meds and after that he was all better BUT GO TO THE DR DONT PLAY WITH YOUR HEALTH..
now about a year later his lungs function is 30% better then it was a year ago my dad is 58 and to top it off my dad has lost about 50 llbs do to the fact that he can now breath a lot better... the cool thing is we have the xrays of his lungs from a year ago and the new ones that were taking last month...
