So I couldn't taste my e juices at all so I thought " hey..maybe I just need to clean them! "

So I did. I rinsed the tanks themselves out with hot water lightly rinsed the rest and replaced the coils all together (I dont rebuild) made sure I dried them as good as I could and now they both taste like garbage! Almost like a burning plastic taste and I dont know what to do :(

Any suggestions?

Im using a kanger evod bcc with a 650mah battery.

when using new coils, after you fill the tank, you need to "prime" the wicks by drawing hard on the atty without any voltage applied to suck the juice into the new wick. Once this has been done, you can now apply voltage with some light draws to test for vapor. Once vapor is detected, have fun....

Everyone, please double-check me here... and correct me where applicable.

That's a Kanger, so the wicks should be silica... which doesn't burn until around 1600C... which should probably look like bright white light coming from the coil if it was reaching that... which I have never seen come from one of these coils. So, any nasty flavor from a fresh tank head would probably be coming from chemicals either on the silica and/or coil from production. Which is why when building, it's suggested to burn your silica (such as with a small torch) and to glow your coils, briefly. I understand the coil glowing is also to reduce stress placed on the metal when formed into a coil which allows it to keep it's newly coiled shape better and to be adjusted easier (since it's relaxed). When not building and just using a store bought head, then I just do some priming puffs while it's dry (no inhale), and then a dozen or so long priming puffs and a couple short ones after I add juice to the tank. Firing used tanks that have went dry causes the last bit of juice on the coil to burn up, effecting future use until it is cleaned or just replaced.

This is how I understand things based on readings and my short time at it. Note: I have bought a cheap tank that had a non-silica material used for the wick... pretty sure it was cotton rope/yarn... terrible stuff, the coil burned it in half.

I had the AVOD2 coil/wick turn black from low, sweet juice, like scorched sugar. soaked hot water vinegar, about 1hr then dry completely. I do not recommend this but.... Still black looking, screwed onto a mech mod and short fired until burned off hard scorched carbon, until the glow orange again, soaked again and they worked. To be safe i replaced wick and coil. Learned my lesson not to use dark, sweet juice and not let it go dry. Clean after a few tanks until I get use to diff juice. I have a torch now.....
