ok... here is my take...try to anticipate the times when you will have a serious craving for a smoke..... start vaping and don't quit til the craving subsides. you may have to have 2 devices so you don't have problems chain vaping, but that's how i did it. a dripper is really good for this. i have 6 after a year ,LOL! whatever it takes ...just do it. i'm proud that you asked, best ,<*}}}>{

I think I HAVE to vape before bed - well, I vape all day...LOL!!! Without vape at night, I would never sleep :) I am not sure what a dripper is yet - LOL!! Thank you so much for being proud of me - it means a lot!! I am NOT giving up - I always swore to myself that if I made it more than a week I would never go back :D

when will I stop wanting a cigarette when I wake up?

Ummm... October 28th, 2014 at exactly 08:22 pm! Did that help? No... :glare:

I thought everyone just started vaping and never got a bad craving again and there was something wrong with me there....

Heh heh heh... no. :glare:

Everyone is different about this. Sure, on one end of things you have those people who "...picked up a PV and never touched a cigarette again!!!" I wanted to reach out and hurt those people when I started. Went through two weeks of really bad, total brain fog, can't sleep, quit smoking withdrawal - same as any other time I tried to quit smoking. You probably know by now this isn't just about replacing nicotine with nicotine.

I was a 2 PAD day 30 year smoker so I get it. I'm not telling you to smoke one now, but it took me a full three months to lose a 30 year smoking habit. I had the morning fits too, and for some reason those last couple hours before bed were bad for me as well.

I had to become a dual user - as far as nicotine goes. Most of the day I was fine at 24 mg, but for the first couple hours in the morning I had to start the day at 30 mg. Same thing with that black hole before bed time. I used two difference nic levels like that for at least my first four months of vaping.

So it sounds like you need to tweak two possible things: Either your nic level is ok - but you simply aren't vaping enough. (A lot of people have to work at actually vaping enough on a consistent basis.) Or you need that higher nic level for a while when starting the day. Switch it up! Change your nic level as often as you need to during the course of a day. You have the flexibility here that you can fit to your needs - don't be afraid to embrace it.

Ultimately, over time the intensity of the cravings and their frequency will fritter out. But if you are still struggling then it's time to change something - either your general vaping habits or your nic level. Or both.

The only part of this situation I don't understand is what hardware you are using that doesn't allow the dog to do it's bidness and you to be out on the porch vaping at the same time. Waddup with dat? :?:

The idea of using a higher mg liquid in the morning sounds like a good idea. For me, the after meal cravings were the hardest. I chain vaped through them. On my second day vaping, I smoked 5. The last one burned my tongue and tasted horrible. I think this helped me. Although I had some bad cravings, I knew I would not enjoy it.

I wish you the best of luck! Stay strong! :)

The more I read about some of the obstacles people have with vaping I'm beginning to wonder if I never inhaled those 3 packs each day for 40 years before I quit. 8-o It's been a pretty easy transitional ride for me this past year. I actually have to crank down the voltage in the mornings. (Then increase it through the day of course). And the after-meal cravings aren't so bad anymore.

I'm probably a candidate for quitting vaping but what would I do with my hands? I could knit but I'd hurt myself with those pokey things.

One other thing you might want to try is to switch up that morning routine a bit. Maybe instead of letting the dog out and sitting on the porch, you could walk around your yard or if you walk your dog, walk in a different direction than normal. Same with getting your daughter ready for school. Do things in a different order. I know it sounds crazy, but it tricks your brain!:ohmy:

was just about to suggest the same thing. habits are very 'setting' oriented. change the setting, change the habit.

LOL!!! A day and time definitely helps!! :D It is funny to me that just the morning is hardest..I thought it would be post meal or in my car (which I scrubbed clean and put in a smelly pine thing that makes me remember how much I adore my car...LOL) The dog problem? Hmmmm...hard to explain - but he is a "I have to go right NOW dog" and what I always did was tie him out and sit on the porch waiting for my 13 year old dog to run around the yard and do his stuff - and i would smoke 2-3 cigs out there....I find that I can't sit on the porch anymore...it makes the cravings TERRIBLE (like I could beat someone for a smoke terrible)....but he won't give me my ten minutes of vaping to feel like a human either - so the problem isn't my hardware (I love it all day...except the morning)...it is a combination of my habits and that dog....LOL!!! Today was a little easier, but still not so much - but my daughter was easier than usual this morning too....arghhhh! Why can't these people just let me vape and drink a lot of coffee???

The best thing for me seems to be not beating myself up and feeling like someone understands (i.e. all you great beloved people) LOL, I tried crocheting once to try to quit....not only did I make very ugly things...I wanted a cigarette more after I messed up **stabby pokey things** - my knitting is even worse - but I can make a potholder LOL!!
