Hello all, long time reviewer/first time poster. I just recently bought a Smoketech 510 U-DCTank Combo - 3ml/Mini [Cartomizers - 5/Pack:Dual Coil DCT 2.5Ω/ohm].

I really enjoyed it initially but am confused by the drop of ohms I am detecting. I use a Evic 1.1 and it picked up 2.4 Ohms initially (seemed normal for a 2.5 Carto). Upon less than a hour of use the evic detected 1.9 then 1.8 Ohms and adjusted my power/watt/V to cater to the Ohms it picked up. I do not understand the loss of Ohm detection I have gotten suddenly.

Should I use these new set power levels knowing it is a 2.5 Ohm Carto or ignore the evic and adjust it to what I think my carto can handle?

Or is this because of my battery life going down causing it to want to pick up lower Ohms?

Any trouble shooting or ideas would be helpful. Thanks for any response.

I'm not sure how accurate the Evic is in terms of resistance measurement, but the measurement shouldn't have changed that much in an hour. Generally, resistance will go up (higher Ohms) after the coil gets gunked up with juice; not the opposite.

Does the higher voltage taste the same as it did at 2.5ohms if you lower it to compensate? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about it, but it's not normal.

That's weird. So far mine reads everything the same every time except for one bad batch I got which goes up and down by about .5 OHMs constantly. As for your situation I say switch to Watts and start low and adjust up to taste. If it vapes good and taste good who cares about the OHMs when you have VV/VW. Just my opinion.

get an Ohm meter. then you can use it to verify the resistance. all atomizers will alter resistance with use. if you get gunked up, then resistance will increase, while it will decrease the hotter the naked wire gets. Rather than just throwing it out, check YouTube for cleaning instructions. with proper maintenance, a carto or atomizer will last up to 3 months and save you even MORE money.

Logic would imply the opposite. Putting a bunch of insulator around a conductor does nothing to its conductivity. On the other hand, the more gunk there is the more possibly conductive material there is around to lower the resistance.

This is my first go around with a Carto. I realy enjoy the look and concept of the one I got. I tried not to get too much juice in the middle hole on the 1st fill today, but I know I did. Maybe your point is what is going on then. It senses too much of the the juice in the middle and lowered the conductivity? As it dried up a bit maybe it will go back up? Food for thought I guess!
