Ohm question. No tester. :/

I had bought a mod online and took it to my local vape shop. I had them build me a coil, and I bought 2 vtc4 batteries. Now, my question is, since my mod can't be connected to a ohm checker because it's a hybrid, could someone here somewhat find what ohms I might be at if i told you how they made my coil? They had to do a parallel coil on one side because the other negative post is positioned wrong. They used 7 wraps for this parallel coil and 26g wire. If anyone could build this coil for themselves and tell me what ohms you get, i might be able to figure out what i'm at. Thanks in advance. also, somewhat of a second question, could i build a dual coil using the same 2 posts? I wouldn't make them parallel coils.

Without knowing what the diameter of the coils wrapped is, noone will be able to give you a precise answer.

If you have a Harbor Freight Tools nearby you can get a digital multi meter for a few bucks(though it won't be the best, especially for low sub ohm coils). 7 wrap dual coil 26ga is going to be pretty low resistance, how low? No one will be able to guess for you, and that's not the only concern. If you don't actually check it while it's installed, you'll have no idea if there is any kind of short, which you would want to know before you fire it. Without a meter, you also won't be able to check your battery voltage.

Also, I have no kind of meter/tester to test my ohms. They didn't even test them at the vape shop when they built it.

Welcome to the forum.

That is a very unsafe practice for a vape shop not to test the coils. Especially, when they know the customer is unfamiliar with the equipment.

If the vape shop did not test it, before giving it to you to use... NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THEM!!!!!!

Since they obviously do not care if you live or die.

I dont care if you make 500 coils a day by hand, you test every single one before you fire it.... You never know when might accidentally have a partial short, kink, snap, crossed wire or whatever... that will cause your coil to be a totally different resistance than what you intended.

to the OP... buy a multimeter and test your coil.

One careless day and you could be in short city without knowing it. I created a short without knowing it on my Kayfun one day. I was in a hurry and wound a coil that measured 1.8 ohms on the ohmmeter before I installed the chimney. I didn't have my fingernail clippers handy, so I used my scissors to clip the ends of the wire. I screwed on the chimney, the tank, and the top and installed it without putting it back on the ohmmeter for a final check.

The Provari read E1 when I fired it. Had it been a mech without a fuse that would have possibly been a bad day. The positive leg was sticking out to the side and shorting to the chimney. Just one careless moment can be trouble.

Thank you to everyone that has posted. But I do not have duel coils. It's a Parallel coil. It's a single coil, but with 2 wires instead of one. They said that would be best for me to use because one of my negative posts has the holes pointed the wrong way. So, if i end up getting this multimeter thing, how would I go about using it? Kinda wish I had the money for a new deck so I didn't have to use this one, since it can't be checked on an ohm meter.

Also, i've been vaping on this build for a good 8 hours now, no problems that I can tell so far. When I got home after going to the vape shop, I took out the cotton they had put in it, and fired it to make sure it was firing correctly. It was heating from the middle out. Been dripping it ever since. Although, I don't get clouds like I wanted. lol
