Minor Details
ohms relate to electrical resistance. specifically based on Ohm's law. average Ohms are around 2 ohms... low resistance atomizers (around 1.5 ohms) high voltage atomizers can range from 3-5 ohms. the higher the Ohms the more resistance the coil offers to the current being put through it. Higher voltages work best with higher resistance cartos/attys. LR atties work best on 3.7 devices. the lower ohm atties heat up quicker due to the lower resistance and using them on high voltage devices will shorten their lifespan or even kill them right away.

Slim ecigs use standard resistance which is around 2.5 to 3 ohms single coils only

Simplistic but generally works: 450mah+ batteries (fat models and mods) in general use single coils from .5 to 2 less than the voltage. .5 less than the voltage would be slightly warm and 2 less than the voltage would be hot. On mods you can go to 2.2 less than the voltage but going that low on an encased mass-produced battery like Ego-types has the potential to kill a battery.

the 450mah+ devices can also use dual coil cartos/attys. If a dual coil attachment is 1.5 ohms that means it is two 3 ohm coils. If a dual coil is 2.5 ohms that means it is two 5 ohm coils (LR on a 7v device, somewhat warm on a 6v device)

...first, we need to divide batts into two categories...below 450mah and above...batts below 450mah include all ciggy sized batts and should stick to a resistance of 2.5ohms upto 3.2ohms...these are known as "SR" or standard resistance...the voltage of these batts are between 3.2 and 3.7volts...
...next you have batts above 450mah and a voltage range of 3.2-4.2 volts and cover most of the "fat batt" models such as the eGo/Riva/Kgo...also include in this group are single battery mods such as the E-Power and Silver Bullet, RoughStack and other mods with a single batt...with these PV, attys/cartos in the LR or low resistance range of 1.5to2.2ohms are best...these can be single coil or double coil attys/cartos...some like the dual coils at these voltages but DCC can be a bit cool at these volt ranges.
...next you have hi voltage or variable voltage PVs...these can use a single batt with booster circuitry or stacked multiple batts with a fixed voltage or a regulator to give variable voltage...these models can range all the way to 7.4v for stacked batts or upto around 6v for variable volt models...attys/cartos in the 3ohm and up for single coils and 1.5 and up for dual coils...in this grouping are high resistance(HR) atty/cartos that run upto 4-5ohms for 6v and above vaping.........
