looking for a little insight into the resistance of dual coil tank. if each of the coils has a resistance of 1.5 or so, and there are 2 coils, the voltage can be set as if using a 3.0 coil? Is this correct? using a spinner, getting ready to pick up a Smoktech EgO Dual Coil tank (DCT), just want to make sure I know how to dial it in when I get it. thanks as always.

so on this chart, if I had a DCT rated at 1.5 resistance per head, I would be looking at 3.0 ohms resistance? power.jpg

no you would have a head that reads 1.5 ohms the rating they give you is what the coils already read together, they dont list one and hope people figure it out.
if you buy a 1.5 ohm dual coil carto when you check it with a multi meter it will say 1,5 ohms.

if you had a dcc rated at 1.5 PER HEAD you would get .75 ohms.

A 1.5 ohm dual coil will test at 1.5 ohms. Serious I have a meter and have tested these. I use these on my spinner/twist at about 4v setting. You can get a 2 ohm dual coil and run it closer to 4.3 to 4.8v on the twist. I have not had significant battery issues. Too much voltage and they start burning the carto and taste bad.

Sorry, you are not right. If the dual coil carto is marked 1.5 Ohm you should use exactly 1.5 Ohm resistance in your voltage setting. Dual coil has two 3Ohm coils operating in parallel. For 1.5 Ohm eGo dual coil tank I use 3.6-3.8 Volts. 4.0-4.2 volts for 2Ohm.

Its about watts per coil. This effects vapor, and taste. 2 coils @ 6 watts doesn't do much at all. 3 watts per coil is no good. you would need at least ~5 watts per coil to be even usable, IMHO. So like 10 total, which if applied to a single coil would likely taste burnt. I use single coils around 7 watts. And Iv used duals anywhere between 10 and 14 watts. Just my preference. Some may like a dual a little lower, but i find it doesn't make much vapor...

don't be sorry, was looking for the answer and knew I didn't have it. that's what I wanted to know, what to plug into the chart and what to look for in replacement parts. appreciate it. I think I get it. currently using a spinner at 4.0 - 4.3 volts for my single coil 2.4 ohms ce4's. didn't want to dial it up too much for the DCTs. I appreciate the help all. cheers.
