Now, I only own mech mods. But my roommate is picking up a IPV3. and I was thinking about the safety of the device. So that led to a couple of questions. Right now, he has only VCT4's to stick in there. and by my understanding. these are great for mech mods, due to the fact they're very high drain, at 30A. But not as much as a regulated device, as they can't keep up a high voltage under load. we also have some LG HE2's, would these be better? or do you know of a better bat for this?

secondly.. for the ohms. I've heard of people going under .2 ohms. is this safe? with the battery rating. I understand that there's 2 batteries. which would mean that the load would be balanced between both batteries. = 8.4V and i'm assuming, 60A continuous draw rate with VCT4's? or with LG HE2's would it be 40A continuous draw? do you still have to consider the ratings of the bats, and how you set the watts? I'm assuming so. But what i keep hearing from people, is they don't even worry about what they're firing it at, just slap on a coil and crank up the watts.

one more question: for those regulated device users out there, what's your vaping ohm range?

I have an IPV3 and I use my VTC5's and Samsung 25R and they work just fine. you can vape low ohm on the device as it does have regulated protection but that does not mean it is "SAFE". I have built as low as .3 on both my mech and my IPV and have not had any problems but its just not a vape for me. I run a .8 single Stovetop coil on my Tobh v2 and a 1 ohm on my fogger 5. The batteries should be fine, I did build a .15 ohm coil and it wicked and fired just fine at 150 watts but I would not hit anything at that temp..
Just make sure he gets some new Married batteries for his new Box and he will be fine :)

Going under 0.2 ohms is almost a dead short ... push the fire button, and if you listen closely, you might be able to hear your battery screaming!

As far as my ohm range, I have tried vaping from low to high ohms on my Kayfun ... I get the nicest most flavorful vape with a single 1.5 - 1.8 ohm coil that is fed 10.5 watts of power.

That's with 50% PG / 50% VG - 18mg juice
