Your resistance, and voltage for that resistance, in a DC carto (based on your somewhat vague language, I'll assume a carto tank set-up here) are about right... I'd be more inclined to suspect the carto itself.

The brand and type of carto... specifically the packing and coil wrap/wick materials used, can greatly effect the flavor profile.

Never a big fan of DC cartos (or the company that makes them)... when I did carto tanks, I used Boge and Ikenvape single coil, 1.8Ω cartos at 3.8-4.5 volts.

Not saying this will be a panacea for you... but something to consider.

Yes it is smoktek. I have never used single coil before. I will look into boge thank you very much
No problem, Bamboo...

One of the better vendors for slotted and punched Boge cartos is SureVapes... with a nice selection.
Depending on your juice blend, you may find anything from a single punch hole, to dual holes... to slotted may be an optimal carto.

When I was using cartotanks, Iken, all the way. I did like the Smoks but only their single coils (IBT sells them, not sure who else), but they're not nearly as good as the Ikens.

My only other thought would be to play with the voltage setting a bit. Sometimes changing it 0.1 or 0.2v in one direction or another can change the flavor just enough. Personally I run 2.2 ohm coils at 3.7v, but I prefer my vape a bit cooler. Either way, you've got a great mod that can change the voltage all over the place. I'd suggest turning it down 0.1v & vape it for a while, then repeat. If you don't find what you're looking for there, you can always go back to where you started or try the same test in the other direction.

Good luck!

Welcome to the ProVarinati!

Carto tanks were were my go to attachments for a very long time. I never tried dual coils, based on the advice of those I trusted (primarily Baditude) that they can use up more juice and the possibility of one coil burning out before the other. From what I read, the flavor/performance of dual coils (if it is actually better) isn't enough over single coils to justify the hassle. (YMMV)

Since they are essentially all made the same, it's interesting that brands can taste noticeably different. I tended to use Smok (called Smoktech by many vendors, but they are the same) most of the time since I liked flanged and Boge didn't come in flanged (they may now, I don't know). I have one tank I used Boge in, but they didn't come prepunched (which they do now), so the vendor punched them for me. I like high pg juice, so that didn't work very well. I need the tiny laser punched holes or got flooding.

IKenVape was always out of stock, so I didn't get to try them for a long time. When I finally did, I found that I liked Platinum more than Fusion, even though Platinum didn't have a flange. There was some reason the Fusion didn't stay wet enough for me and I was always filling it up. I have some IKV Nitros around somewhere, but I haven't opened them. By the time I got them I was already on to a different type of set up. The Nitros I got were single coil, which I actually bought by accident. I was curious about the unfilled Nitros, but it turns out they only come in dual coil. It the only time I wanted to try dual coil.

Anyway, my point is there are so many different kinds to try, that it can take some experimenting to find what you like.

FYI - "Smok" is the actual name of the Smoketech company, although most vendors call their products "Smoketech" (that might be a specific division, who knows?). I originally bought my Smok(tech) cartos from Smoktek (a vendor unrelated to the company ), but switched to IBTanked when I started using standard size cartos. For whatever reason, Smoktek only sells them in XL.

A big fan of Ikenvape. They only come in single coils. Used both Platinum and Fusions almost interchangeably, but eventually settled on the Platinum. I believe the Fusions have a tighter draw. Having said that, the last time I went to setup a cartotank, I had three Platinums in a row be DOA. That's unusual for Ikv, but even Isaac has had problems with his manufacturer in China. Last I heard he was having them made here in the states for better quality control.

Never was a fan of Smok dual coils. Interesting that none of the other manufacturers jumped on the dual coil cartomizer wagon. You could properly prime a dual coil, but once the juice is drained from the upper filler region, the holes in the bottom of the cartomizer couldn't keep up with adequate wicking for the top coil, allowing the top coil to burn the filler.

Just chiming in, as I still use cartos in a tank all the time!
I WANT to love Ikenvape - and I used to, but the products changed and I haven't found a new one to love.
So my standard now is Boge (and I get 'em from SureVape, too).
I like the ones with the big holes, or even with a slot...which lets more juice get in so it can "keep up"...
BUt if your liquid is thinner (more PG), that would "flood" - so YES, try a couple types til you find one you like!!

I know, I was saying I don't know who else sells the Smok single coils. I could only find Smok dual coils everywhere else that I looked.

Other than IKV, you can "carto shop" pretty substantially at SureVapes - they carry

Boge and Smok
Punched and Not punched
Low ohms and high ohms
Flanged and not flanged
Single and Dual Coil
Standard and XL
Even "shorties" for a halfling tank
And their "hot deals" prices (for 5 boxes, once you know what your favorite is) can't be beat. Least, not by much...]

That's a lot of variables - no wonder people get confuzzled!
