Hi I've got a regulated mod the innokin cool fire IV plus to be exact. I was working up a new atomizer slowly today and it was reading.48 pretty steady then all of a sudden.34. Only got it to almost 30 watts. Nothing significant happened other than a few crackles I thought were normal for a new atty. Anyone ever hear of that? I'm swapping out for another new one now but bummed I just stuck that one in yesterday. 0.5 clapton bvc from innokin... Kanthal...Thanks in advance!

Pre-built or RTA?

Coils' Ohm readings can change a bit for the first several usages.

I've been rebuilding mine lately, and I've had some that went from 0.21 doing to 0.19 after a bit of use, which I attribute to "settling" as the coil stabilizes from being heated enough times, the wink getting saturated properly, and such. Then it stays at that rating for the next week or more that I use it until it's time to clean/rewick, etc.

Pre-built tend to be more stable, but it still can happen. Dry hits, pushing the wattage too high (especially when new) can have some effect.

If there's a flaw in the coil and it binds together and not heat properly can impact the Ohm rating too.

That does seem a big jump for a prefab coil. But so long as it is vaping, I don't think it's a problem. Those coils are war parts; you use them and throw them away. All too soon, it will be time to replace it. If it were a built coil, I might think it more significant.

Edit: for war read wear, and thanks to @speedy_r6 .
