OK, I think my atty is dying. I think. And I don't have a spare yet.

First it was tasting slightly burnt and producing very little vapor on a full cart. Then I flooded it, I thought - but I only used 4 drops. I blew it out, added one drop - no gurgling, but not much vapor either. Blew it out again, dried carefully, added two drops - more gurgling. It sounds like an asthmatic with bronchitis.

Still very little vapor.

This thing is only a week old...

I'm going to blow it out again, clean and refill a cart, and try again, but I don't know what else I can do. I am not going to wash it in anything at this point, because, like I said, I don't have a spare yet (waiting for a delivery), so...

Man, there can be quite a learning curve on these things, eh?

Cheers,
Briar.

Atomizers can last from several minutes to several months. If you have access to a multimeter, you can quickly determine if the atomizer is still good or FTD (fixin' to die). You do not mention what type of atomizer you have, but most will have a resistance around 3.5 ohms. If it reads very high, it will produce very little vapor and is ready to fail. If the resistance is normal, make sure your batteries are fully charged and the contacts are clean.

Ah, excellent idea! I think I can scrounge a multimeter from my Dad's basement...

It's not the battery - it does this on new charge. It's a 510, btw.

Thanks! :) Off to the dungeon... eh... basement.

I had one doing that... once you get the meter and decide whether its worth it, you may want to try this.. One the ruyan site it suggests droping a fewdrops of alcohol into the atty then rinsing with distilled water. VG does a job on my 510 attys. I personally have placed a VERY small microwaveable bowl half filled with vinegar into the micro. Once it starts boiling drop my attys in and in about 30 mins the liquid starts to turn brown I guess longer may be better). I guess citric acid in the pepsi bath is what makes that work... Afterwards I blow them out well with canned air and let them dry. Seems to have worked everytime.
