I started with disposables, then went to a cheap re-chargeable unit (which I ruined all cartos by under-filling) and then finally bought the Bloog Maxx Fusion at around $104..... and I've bought a bunch of extra batteries, tons of juices to try out (recently from Virgin Vapor), etc. I have now burned through too many cartos to count. Soon after I switched to 100% VG my vaping world went crazy-bad. At first, when using the nuttier VG flavors, I did fine ( I did a small mini bottle purchase and it went very well). But now, with strawberry, pina colada, blueberry, etc. I've wasted too much money to even bring myself to add it up! Should I just stick with PG until I gain more experience? Should I get a different unit? *I'm a hard, heavy hitter who vapes a LOT. When I vape, I vape like I'm chain-smoking at times. I try to keep an eye on the warmth of the carto to avoid burning them out. I try to top off often. I use the condom filling method or the Tartyn spin (I very well spelled that technique incorrectly). I added about 5-10% distilled water to my juices last night and had a bit more success but certain flavors, like the strawberry, taste terrible no matter what I do. It SMELLS great... and normally, if I like the smell, I like the taste. I thought I'd SAVE money by vaping! So... suggestions?:)
* I don't think all the bad-tasting cartomizers are totally burnt.. just contaminated. Even with the reverse spin method I can't get it ALL out.... and I don't want to add a new flavor on top of a bad tasting carto. Should I boil them (or put them in boiling water)? And if so, how long do I let them dry? This is getting exhausting!:glare:

There are all sorts of ways you can go. I'd suggest you get a VV mod, and try to find a simple basic flavor for an all-day vape. Then you can try other stuff around that.

Cartos need to be kept wet, and people tend to forget where they are and just burn them. Maybe you need a tank, so you can't burn the carto up. So you could be looking at a Buzz and a couple of tanks maybe.

You don't say what nic strength you are using. Once you get a system that produces a ton of vapor, using tanks so you don't burn the carto, then you can find the right power that hits the spot for you by varying the voltage. At that point you can then vary the nic strength with the aim of getting a result that means you are not chain vaping - and hopefully end up with a system that works 100% for you.

Cartos that taste bad even after rinsing can sometimes be fixed by a power 'plunge' rinse using a syringe, like the Cartofillinator system. Rinsing with alcohol is another option. If that doesn't fix it then you have burnt the carto and it's toast.

A simple flavor is a good idea for a 'basic' or 'all-day' vape. It means that more fancy flavors at odd times have a greater effect. Simple flavors are for example tobacco, tobacco + caramel or vanilla or both (aka RY4), caramel, caramel ice (caramel + a hint of menthol), and so on.

When I began my vaping journey, I definitely spent more than I had anticipated. Consider it an investment in your health, picking up vaping can be pricey at first. It gets loads better though.

Then I bought a Darwin, a bulk pack of atomizers from alibaba, and DIY mixing gear... my costs hover in the $5-10/month range now and I chain vape like crazy.

For the amount of usage you're describing, I would consider buying a big battery mod. You could hold off on that until you get more cozy with vaping, I realize you did just spend a bundle, but once you have a mod in your hands that's variable volt (or variable wattage, even better) that lasts 2 days on a charge you'll see what I mean. Its a huge difference. Bloogs perform very well for being mini batt mods, but wouldn't cut it for me.

As for the flavor, I would recommend trying direct dripping on an attie, not a carto, but I'm not sure if you can even use atties on bloog's? I remember getting frustrated with cartos early on and despite so many reviews of positive experiences, I've avoided them since. Direct dripping on 510 or 306 atties works just wonders for me personally... great flavor and vapor production using 100% VG.

By the way, Rolygate, I love the avatar. I remember my mum buying me Asterix comics when I was young... I absolutely loved them. I wish they had caught on over here in the US.

Well, not much good has come out of France, but this was one exception :)

Maybe Calvados I suppose. OK Roquefort as well. All right, Champagne then. And a few good words here and there. The odd dab of culture, perhaps. Oh and their modern sailors aren't bad at all. But apart from that, what did they ever do for us?

The old druid Getafix is a classic, for sure ;)
