So I started with a Tankomizer, and have moved to DCTs. I love the DCT and it is working well for my needs. However I am still finding flavors I want to sample. Learning that putting a new flavor into a DCT and then not liking it resulted in going through a whole process I wish to avoid. So I have ordered some LR Attys for dripping and would like to get started on the right foot. I get my juice, I attach the atty now what...any tips and advice is welcome as I would like to avoid as many frustrations as possible.

When I used to drip (ew, that sound gross, lol!), I used an 801 because of the longer barrel. It will hold more juice drops, approx. 6 to 8 depending on the PG/VG ratios. I have found that if you roll the APV between your hands after you drip your juice into it, it seems to spread the juice out along the inside.

NOTE: I prefer to use a 50/50 PG/VG juice.

1) Before you attach the atty, blow out any primer fluid which shipped with the atty. Blow into a paper towel. Then attach the atty.
2) Prime the atty with about 6 or 7 drops of juice, let sit a minute or so.
3) Vape. You may find another drop or two is needed.
4) You should get about 5 - 8 good, flavorful hits, then when you notice a reduction in flavor, or burnt taste, add 2 or 3 drops, rinse and repeat.

If switching flavors to sample them, vape out most of the juice, then blow out any excess in a paper towel like you did with the primer, and repeat the process.

In my experience, the first few moments with a carto can be pretty enjoyable. But soon enough, the flavor doesn't really get bad, just kind of muted, as compared to the consistant, more complex flavor you get with a good atty. The thing that most annoys me with a polly-fill carto is it tends to leave my throat scratchy and rough, which dripping on an atty never does. Your mileage may vary. Let us know how you find dripping :)

Came here to post the same question, Count! I have 3 atty's (a 306 and 2 510's). I think I've gotten maybe two or three GREAT vapes off each one - and after that, just frustration. Now that I am branching out into DIY juices, dripping is going to be REALLY important in tweaking flavors. If I get it down perfectly, life will be much easier.

So far, my experience with dripping has been really disappointing and I know I must be doing it wrong. Basically, I'll pick a flavor, drip it on the atty (although through the drip tip, I'm never quite sure it's actually going where it needs to go), wait, and vape. 90% of the time, there's very little vapor production at first and a lot of gurgle. I generally taste an undercurrent of burn, and get juice in my mouth (which, most of the time, is YUK). Sometimes after the gurgling stops (flooded atty?), I'll get a few really good draws before it get a horrid dry burning hit.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Does the general burnt taste mean my atty's bad, or does it just need cleaning?

Thank you for all the tips everyone. Looking forward to my dripping venture, especially since all my great sample flavors came today. Also discovered there is a EJuice vendor here in Southern Oregon. Had no idea there was someone so close with very competitive prices! So I feel I am going to have an abundance of flavors to try in the near future. Now I am anxiously awaiting my attys lol.

I am happy this thread is still going so I don't have to start a new one.

Does anyone know if Vision is the only Manufacturer of the Dual Coil Atty? I looked at Hoosier, and C.O.V and they have the exact same pic up showing the insides of the attys (DCA) but there prices are a several bucks different. Hoosier says their attys are made by Vision, but C.O.V just says C.O.V attys.
