i bought a Magma for my first one and am happy with it overall. if i were to do it again, i'd probably go with one of the cheaper 510 kits. it seems like there are plenty out there for $50 instead of $80 like the Magma. i guess part of that depends on if you want the pcc or not. i only use mine now for storing spare batteries and attys in.

I have a Magma and really like it. Don't get the kit, get the parts, get 2 batteries, 2 attomizers, a charger, a couple of bottles of juice, and a couple packs of carts. This way you can see if you like it without breaking the bank. IF you do, then go back and get the bigger batteries, pcc, or what ever you think is right for you.

I would highly recommend an inexpensive one piece, such as the KR808D-1. Simple, easy to use, and has worked great to get me off analogs.

VaporJunction has a full 808 kit for $24.95. Add a passthrough for $9.95. The prefilled carts that come with the kit aren't great, but the rest of the gear is top notch. Can't beat the price.

Then I would pick up some prefilled carts from Cigeasy and maybe some juice. I really enjoy their 555, 'Marlboro - USA Mix', and 'Camel - Desert Ship'.

I started with Cigeasy's 24mg 'Marlboro - USA Mix' and 'Camel - Desert Ship' and was off the analogs instantly.

I moved on to a few Tasty Vapor flavors but recently started craving 'tobacco' flavors and now 555 (Cigeasy) and Frisco (Vaporstation's 555) are my regulars along with the Cigeasy Marlboro and Camel.

I smoked for 15 years, pack a day, and haven't craved an analog since I got my first 808.

My dad, who smoked close to 2 packs for almost 50 years, also has the VaporJunction 808 kit and has kicked the analogs as well.

I was under the impression that the 510 WAS mainstream. . .

eGo is a 510 'super battery'. 510 is the most popular 3 piece (battery, atomizer, cartridge).

The KR808D-1 is probably the most popular 2 piece (battery, cartomizer (cartridge and atomizer rolled into one)).

Both are great. I went with the 808 and haven't regretted the decision.

Cigeasy also has the 'Elegant' which is like a KR808D-1 eGo. Fully charged, it will last me a day and a half.

I also picked up a KR808D-1 Wetbox from Clouds of Vapor and love it.

Got a Magma last Thursday, but it is messy and pricier than most. If I had researched more I would have gotten a riva or another less expensive starter kit. Whatever you get make sure you get a manual battery. Autos are harder to use and require a longer inhale. If you don't care about it looking like a "real" cig you might consider a box mod
from box mods.net. Either one of these options would be in the $50 to $60 range, not including juice, to get started. Make sure you buy extra juice from somewhere. I went through my 25 carts included in my kit and 10ml of juice in a week and am waiting for my next e- juice order and am having to smoke analogs tonight. The cheapest place I found to get e- juice was strictly e- juice.com. Get 3 10ml bottles in different flavors from them it will cost you around $13 with free shipping. They ship it out quickly. I live in GA and they are in CA. I ordered mine Monday and will receive mine tomorrow according to the USPS.

I have a Magma it works great, good vapor, battery life is descent but... I bought a regular Joye 510 because the atomizer on the Magma only fit the Magma carts. with a regular 510 the carts can be bought at many places, with the Magma you are kinda stuck with Magma carts which is fine for me I have 10 cartridges and I just keep refilling them with my own juice but if you dont want to fill your own you have to buy Volcanoes brand carts. You can always use Magmas batteries with Joye attys my Magma battery is one of my back up batteries for my Joye. They work fine together but I would just get the 510 not necessarily a Magma the price on a Joye is $39-49 and if you like prefilled carts they are easy to find. Joye kits are 2 batts, 2 atty's, charger and 5 carts I think. You can get a nice case for $4, a PCC( charging pack looks like a cig pack)for $20. A lot of people would rather spend their money on juice than accessories they dont need. I personally love my PCC and I use it every weekend. Some people find that they are never away from electric long enough to need it.

I'm absolutely LOVING my Magma. As a heavy smoker I started with the Magma and I haven't had any of the problems I've read other people complain about with other brands in regards to vapor production, flavor loss, etc. I did buy the kit, but if you're worried about price I would suggest:
2 to 3 Batteries
2 to 3 Atty's
USB Charger
One or two boxes of flavored cartridges to get started
Drip Tip
and a bottle or two of flavoring once you've gotten used to it

My wife is very exicited about me switching to e-sigs for the health and cost reasons and didn't really mind a higher startup cost. I ordered the Magma kit, two extra manual batteries, the drip tip, a usb passthrough (I am at a computer over 8 hours a day) and some menthol e-juice. Can't wait for it to arrive :). Going to obviously order more/different e-juice as well as an extra atomizer. Will update this thread after it arrives. :vapor::vapor::vapor:
