Doing so will apparently lead to a short and melting of the spring and God knows what all. On my aging Grand, I find that I must tighten the atty down or have it wiggle in the threads. If I abide by the suggestions to only tighten it until it makes contact, it flops around in the threads and while it still works, it doesn't feel comfortable to see that kind of lateral movement. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I need to replace my atty connector?
