i just got my e cig kit last week. i got it from vapornine.com (tunrned out to be a smoking everywhere kit, i was kind of disapointed because i heard bad things about them). ive kind of been guessing about the fluid, just putting some in when i think it must need more. i got carolina tobaccoa flavor liquid (pretty yucky actually). it just started burning. i am confused about the things i have been reading about the cartomizer mods. should i get empty carts and fill them with liquid? i also read about the blue foam stuff. is that better than the fibery stuff that comes in the carts? i took one cart apart to see how it worked, but i am still confused:confused:. any help would be much appreciated.

Tea bags work pretty well in carts. I don't use the Pyramid Tea Bags. Just regular tea bags that you can get a 100 pack of at the dollar store. Works pretty well actually. That burnt taste, however, maybe coming from the atty on the cartos. I haven't messed w/ cartos yet, so I can't help you there. I think I am fine w/ carts. A bit of maintenence, but easy to fill and modify. I am working on a hemp cord filler, but not fully tested yet. The highping mod works OK, but a bit tempermental. Haven't tried the blue foam yet.

One of my first was a Fifty-One which was a two piece, but used the cartomizers and then never bought anymore. Now I use a three piece and basically drip all the time.
Dripping simplifies but many don't like having to do it so often. Kind of silly since we use to flick ashes off a burning cigarette constantly.

I'm no different though and that is why I'm looking to getting a juice box.:)

i went to the pet store and purchased fluval. its the white filler stuff they put in fish tank filters to filter the air thru. it works really great. 1 box should last me ummm say, 100 yrs. i took 1 sheet and seperated it into 3 diff sheets. then just cut the piece i need for my carto. so far i have no problems with it. its cheap and easy to get.
i've tried coconut cream pie, earl gray, clove, strawberries n cream, butter mints and several other flavors. i like them all. think irish cream coffee and banana fosters coffee are my favorites tho.
i don't care for any of the tobacco flavors. they are ok, but i'm way past the wanting an analog so not interested in them. this is all me personally i might add

Off topic: How is the Earl Grey and what manufacturer? I have been wanting to try that.

I just went back to vapornine's site to double check and the kit that they offer is a kr808 D-1 which is what I thought since I've ordered their cartomizers before. A cartomizer doesn't use blue foam. It' a one piece atomizer/cartridge that you can't replace the filler in. There are a few different ways to fill a cartomizer (if this is what you're dealing with).
Search "filling cartomizers" in this forum or on youtube and you'll learn real quick. Good luck. :)

Yeah, cartos and carts are two totally different things. A two piece KR808 uses cartos, which you don't take the filler out of usually. If it starts to taste burnt, then it probably got too dry and the filler is starting to burn. Not good. lol

Cartos are meant to be disposable, and you can usually get a few days to a week out of them, topping off with juice often to keep them wet. But you'll notice the air flow starting to get harder or the vapor production will start to lower - I think because the old juice starts to gunk up the atty inside. They are washable though, so long as you stop using them before that nasty burnt taste.

You can find blank KR808 cartos and fill them with whatever juice you like, or buy prefilled and use them for a day and toss them or refill with a similar juice.

I find that with the way I vape, I put 10 drops in to top off a carto fairly often, maybe once an hour? Never really paid attention. Keep a paperclip handy to pop the top off and look at the filler, if it looks dry on top, put a few drop in until you notice the filler not sucking any more in. You can also use a drip tip to make it easy to check inside, they pop off and on without needing a paperclip. Keep a paper towel handy in case you get a little too much, or drop any down that center tube - it will leak out the bottom. Cartos are fairly easy to work with, but it takes some practice to get a groove down to where you know when to top off and when to move to a new one.

Be careful to put too much stock in to what others say. Everyone has a personal taste preference. If you like your PV great! If it's not working, you've got the wrong one.

I personally have spent a week of intensive work and research and found that I ADORE my RN4081 aka Smoking Everyone Fifty-One Trio. I don't sell them (yet) I don't have any ties, and I certainly don't like the man who lied his (buns) off to get me to buy it.

I am a pipe smoker so it makes sense to me to have to fiddle with a nicotene delivery system. I will buy others when I am rich, in the mean time I have figured out how to make mine blow a ton of smoke. Also I hear my atty (atomizer) is a solid unit.

All in all, if you have bought in, experiment with your PV before you throw it away... that's my advice, search the boards.

Hey I ended up with an SE also. I just checked out the carts and see a little bit of foam in there, once the tobbaco flavor is empty in it I can just drop eliquid in it right? Or do i need to spcifically buy empty carts? If so where would sell SE GOLD carts that are empty/fillable?

Yes just refil the cart. I put up a new thread called Newbies Don't Fret if you want to see my SE tips, it's very basic but includes some details about the carts.
