I'm a bit interested in trying an RDA. First things first im currently running an istick 50w with an Atlantis tank. My first question would be can build an RDA that can be used with an istick 50w, or do i have to get better gear?
Second question would be if i can in fact use my mod box for RDA what are the benifits of using it over my atlantis tank??? Do you get better flavor?? Do you get more vaper production out of 50w out of an RDA then i would my tank???
Third question would be what you you guys recommend for someone who is just starting RDA. If i dive into it i wont want to start out with something to complicated, but i also would not want to start out with something that once i get the hang of it would be rendered useless so i would like maybe a middle of the road setup thats not to expensive????
Fourth question, What exactly do i need to begin my RDA adventure as far as hardware, and tools, and knowladge?

I know what alot and i could probly find most of this stuff online but there is so much info, and so many products out there its about to make my head explode so i figured id turn to you guys for some help.

Thanks :)

1. My first question would be can build an RDA that can be used with an istick 50w, or do i have to get better gear? No... 50 watts, with the right wire gauge and build, will support sub-ohm builds well. Higher wattage would be advantageous if you wanted to support deep sub-ohm builds at higher (above the "norm") coil radiant temperatures.

2. Second question would be if i can in fact use my mod box for RDA what are the benifits of using it over my atlantis tank??? Do you get better flavor?? Do you get more vaper production out of 50w out of an RDA then i would my tank??? Coil builds that are less physically restricted by the relatively small rebuildable space found in a clearo tank. A larger range of options in air flow, vaporization chamber space and vapor density.

3. Third question would be what you you guys recommend for someone who is just starting RDA.

An RDA with 3-4 posts (4 would be two positive wire attachment points) and an AFC adjustment that can accept a single coil or dual parallel (or more) coils.

4. Fourth question, What exactly do i need to begin my RDA adventure as far as hardware, and tools, and knowladge?

iStick 50W is more than enough to play with RDAs. I started with an iStick 20W. ;)

Building your own coils is much cheaper than buying them and allows a lot of control over your vape. RDAs are also often customized to achieve a particular aspect of vaping (e.g., flavor-chasing, cloud-chasing). They are also much more convenient for tasting e-juice than something with a tank. Finally, it's fun.

Do you get better flavor?? Do you get more vaper production out of 50w out of an RDA then i would my tank???

Yes or No, depends on the RDA and what it is designed for. Flavor and Cloud production are somewhat a trade-off.

If I were to put together an RDA starter kit, it would have a Magma clone RDA, a coilmaster set, some Japanese cotton, and 28 gauge Kanthal. Magma is designed for flavor and very few tanks can match it on that level. Vapor production is also good, but it's not a cloud chaser. You can probably order all of that from FastTech for under $25 or so.

50 watts is plenty. My first RDA's where used on a (then-new) iTaste MVP 2.0, which only goes up to 11 watts, and it worked just fine.

I would start off with a three-post RDA, even if you only intend on using single-coil builds. Two- and four-post RDA's often require a bit more work with regards to coil placement, but with a three-post RDA, a coil will usually slide right into place without having to bend one or both of the coil legs.

You will want something with a medium-depth drip well. A very deep well can often interfere with coil mounting and adjustment. Adjustable airflow is also something to look for, since you do not yet know how tight or loose of a draw you prefer.

There are countless RDA's that meet these requirements. Just go through the listings of a few online vape shops and pick out one that looks good to you. I'd stay away from the super-cheap $5 - $15 clones and stick with a $20 - $30 clone from a manufacturer like EHPro, HCigar, Cigreen, Wotofo, UD, etc. There are even a few original designs from these manufacturers at this price point.
