RDA OK, Now I Get It!

I've always resisted dripping because I thought it was just too much hassle. Just out of curiosity I ordered an Omega clone. It was cheap and looked easy to build on and figured I wouldn't be out much if I didn't care for it. It came in the mail Friday and on Saturday I sat down to build it with some Kanger .5 ohm pre-made coils. Finally got the coil in there, although it wasn't pretty, wicked it and WOW. NOW I understand. Great flavor and lots of vapor. Of course, I only had 9 and 10 mg/ml juices. Just a couple of hits on that and that was all it took. Spent most of the rest of the weekend mixing down those 9 and 10s to 3 and 3.3 nic. Much smoother and still very flavorful even with 1/3 the amount of flavoring. I'll still use my tanks for work and travel, but evenings and weekends I'll be dripping!

The Omega design can be a bit tricky. I have not built one, but it looks like the juice well wall is a bit tall making a horizontal coil temperamental. Looks like a good candidate for diagonal coils.

Not sure what those pre wrapped coils run but a spool of 26 gauge is darn cheap. 250 feet for runs about 11 dollars. I like to use drill bits for wrapping them.

Just plug your sizes in and resistance you want and it will let you know how many wraps you need.

Yep, I have wire, tools and cotton on the way but I ordered the pre-made coils with the dripper so I'd be sure to have something as soon as the Omega arrived. You're right about the walls being high. It took three coils before I got one in approximately right without twisting it all to pieces. I figured the high wall would give me a nice deep well but it definitely got in the way. Thanks for the Steam Engine link. I had already studied it and played with the numbers.

I just order a Goblin mini...I wanna try building again but I've been getting spoiled with temp control. Curious if rta is better than rba for me. I have a doge that I love but realize I haven't built on it in months.
I don't think I'm ready for nickel builds yet either...

I haven't used my RDA in a while. I have been enjoying the Goliath v1 and Uwell Crown tanks. I use a mech with the RDA and adjust resistance using different wire set ups. Maybe I need a VW device to use with my RDA to make it better?

Get machine screws at hardware store and wrap in the threads. Use this website for size Machine Screw Size Charts and Conversion Tables then go to steam engine coil builder and switch to imperial then once entered switch back to metric. This helps if you cant space out nickel.
