Anything is worth it if you want it bad enough. I want one, but not bad enough yet!!!
Key word "yet"
I also use twists. I have several and because of the low cost of these devices I can have multiple vapes going at once. There is a place for everything I guess, and when the time comes I'll have a larger PV, Probably not a Provari at first but something cheaper to test the waters.

My twists have not worn out yet but they will. My provari is a little beat up but still functions flawlessly. I have dropped it a number of times on various surfaces and heights. If you want reliability, versatility, dependability and an American made device, this is it. Don,t get me wrong I love my 5 volt GLV's (sweet spot), but the provari just feels right and substantial. I have no doubt I could get good money for it on the classes but I doubt I'll ever sell it. Good luck.

Be careful with that path though. I had the same thoughts and went for a LamboV4. I ordered my Provari 3 weeks later.

I realize that im going to get a Provari sooner or later, so I bit the bullet, went past all the other mods, vmax zmax zooming past me and I head straight for the king.

I'll work my way from the top now. I will have a reliable Provari so I can buy any mods without worrying I will have a .... time with it.

Another option is a Stainless Steel Zmax Version 2. Madvapes is selling them for $99.00 and they're having a 10% off sale (you can find the code in the deals and steals section). The Zmax V2 is accurate and has a variable wattage mode. Is it as well built as the Provari? No. Is it as dead on accurate as the Provari? No, but close enough. Will it last as long as the Provari? No. Is it a really nice mod that's half the price of the Provari? Yes it is.

However, if you really want a Provari and have the money to spend then you should get what you want.

Doesn't matter what order you buy 2 mods. If you buy a Zmax now, and a ProVari 3 weeks later, that Zmax will become your backup device. Zmax tries to pretty that up with the VW deal so they could charge $120, but that is unnecessary. Especially at this stage. As you adjust voltage, the watts are adjusted. I actually prefer to read voltage. Don't even use the VW function on my ZMax. And for the higher wattage stuff? Who wants that many watts? It's probably a small minority of vapers.

I bought the ProVari first. About a month later I bought a Zmax because I wanted to show some love to the local All About Vapor down the road from me. Great juice, nice people, their juice helped me quit cigs.

Now I'm finding more and more reasons to buy more mods. The unavailability of many products runs me hot, but that's not gonna happen with ProVaris. Anyway, unless you really don't have spare money ever, or you avoid getting drawn to this habit, this probably won't be your last mod.

My advice is this. Yes the ProVari is worth the price. Yes you should make the ProVari part of your collection.

I should have waited for SS Zmax V2

You can get the Zmax Version 2 at Madvapes for $90.00 (they lowered their prices today and they're having a sale). The Provari is very nice and durable, just really expensive.

If you can afford it yes, absolutely. But they won't make your juice taste any better than a Twist, so don't buy one unless you won't miss the money.

To add to this, another great thing about quality build PVs is they hold their value. So if you order it, and you don't feel like it made that big of a difference, or just don't like the size, you can easily sell it here on the classifieds forum. You might lose 20 bucks or so overall, but there's always an out.

Not knocking a Zmax but its not in the same ballpark in regards to the Provari and resale value. Ive seen used Provaris going for their selling price or even higher on the classified pretty routinely...the few Zmaxs that Ive seen sold on the classified have been in the 60-80 dollar range. Just wanted you to be aware of that in case it influences your purchase. The lower price on the Zmax is probably due to people buying them for a reduced price in Chinese co-ops but it does drive the price down.

I've got 5 slots in my PV stand. 3 empty ones.

Provari

Zmax V1 (Mr. Wobbles)

Shopping for: Caravela

Shopping for: GG

and probably a silver bullet because one of the slots is is wider than the other 4, and that's the only mod I know that is that fat.

I'll probably end up selling the ZMax, or giving it to a friend when it's all said and done, and replacing that slot with possibly some kind of Provari V3 or a gold ProVari, signifying the conquering of my desired collection.

Well in all fairness I only read from the OP post down to the one I quoted and had not realized the thread had shifted towards talk of cheap Chinese stuff.

However, I did in fact say "quality build" PVs.

I still have, and use, my eGo Twists every day. I also own a SS satin ProVari with an 18650 extension tube; it is my "gold standard", and I run one of my Penelopes on it. I also have a Legacy standard with an 18650 extension tube and a Kick; very well-made mod with build quality comparable to the ProVari, and variable wattage with the Kick. And last, but certainly not least, I have a new version 2 SS Zmax with extension tube for stacked 18350s; the variable wattage in RMS mode is just as accurate as my Kicked Legacy, but not so accurate as the ProVari.

Just because I am constantly sampling new juice, much of it DIY, I have all of my mods—Twists, Legacy, Zmax, and ProVari—in rotation at any one time. So which is my favorite? At the moment, it is the Zmax. I'm getting very solid performance from the Z, and because I experiment with so many atomizers (Vivi Novas, Penelopes, Vision Eternitys, Phoenixes, etc.), the variable wattage is very useful.

Here's the real question you want to ask yourself: are you the sort of vaper who likes to take care of their mods with regular maintenance and care in handling, or are you more casual in care and occasionally ham-handed with your mods? If the former, something like the Zmax may serve you very well. If the latter, go with something really tough and forgiving, like the ProVari.
