It's not that I want to jump at all it's the simple fact that the Blu don't cut it for me. It makes little sense to keep smoking and dumping money into something that just don't work. I spend more time charging the batteries that I do vaping not to mention the cost of the refills and the terrible customer service. I called them yesterday to ask a simple question and got attitude right from the get go, they were sure nice when they were taking my money two weeks ago but the honeymoon is over in less than a week I guess.

Don't take this the wrong way but after being treated like a second class citizen by their customer service goon and the fact that the batteries last about long enough to charge another one. My plan is to buy a quality product from a dealer who understands Customer Service and then pass this system along to someone else on Craigs List for a discounted price. I will admit they opened my eyes to a way to quit smoking after 35 years but that's about all I have to say in the plus column for Blu.

If you want cig-alike, Smokeless Image Volts probably have the largest support here. They are the same as Bloog and Smoov, but sold at slightly less cost. I started there after my own "mistake" with another kit. (There are no mistakes as long as it leads you forward.)

I can highly recommend either the standard, or pro starter kits. If you go this route, you want the 78mm batteries. They cost $1 more but give you an extra hour of life each. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits

From there, when I was convinced I would continue vaping, I moved up to the Volt X2 batteries. 650mah, 900mah, or 1300mah manual batteries. (Manual gives you a longer cut off time so you can take a longer drag). 100mah = roughly one hour of charge. You have the choice with these of using the refillable cartomizers, clearomizers, or the new Ce bottom coils. ANY of the 3 work, it's just a matter of personal preference. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt X2 Battery Passthrough - Accessories

The Volt X2 is the same thing as a Kgo, the only difference is that it is an 808 thread and compatible with any equipment for their smaller cig-alike batteries. I would recommend the Volt X2 or Kgo over any of the eGos as Kgo and Volts are 3.6-3.7 volt as opposed to the 3.4 volt eGo. The only exception would be if you want variable voltage and want to try the eGo Twist.

PG is propylene glycol, used in inhalers etc. It gives good flavor and throat hit, not a ton of visible vapor. VG is vegetable glycerine, it somewhat mutes throat hit and flavor, but produces thick clouds of vapor. It's also thicker and can clog equipment faster. Most people use a combination of the 2 depending on personal preference. I don't like a lot of throat hit, so I use 60/40 VG/PG. YMMV

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for a simple explanation without a bunch of acronyms that a new user isn't going to know. I have been looking at the Volt on Smokless Image and just didn't know what the best route to take was. I called them yesterday and they are a very nice bunch of folks who seem to want my initial and return business not just the wham bam thank you mam I got from Blu. I have enough of the blu stuff to last until I get hooked up with a better dealer and will be placing an order this morning at some point. I will read some of the other sections before I commit any more funds but the Volt is looking pretty good right now..

Your Blu is 100% VG just to let you know. That's why it produces decent (still poor overall vapor). If you want to try some PG before committing, some gas stations and most wal-marts carry a 15 dollar cheapo starter kit called Mistic (red or menthol) which comes with one battery, USB charger, and two carts. Most importantly, these carts are 100% or close to 100% PG. This way, you can tell which you like better, or which you would prefer to have the majority of your e-juice be. Additionally, some people have a bad reaction to PG, such as throat tingling or coughing. If the throat hit is fine for you from your Blue, then I'd suggest a VG based product. But if you don't have any reactions to PG, I really don't notice much difference, so I get whichever flavor I like.

EDIT: I accidentally put people had a reaction to VG, but I meant PG, like the poster below me stated.

Actually, more people statistically have a reaction to PG than to VG.... although it's still very few. Everybody is different. Some can use straight PG, some can't, some have a reaction to one or the other, or a reaction to certain flavors. Unfortunately, other than staying away from any flavor that you know you have an allergy or reaction to, there's no way of knowing without trying it.

For flavors, order a variety of small bottles until you know what you like. Your tastes can and will change as your sense of taste and smell returns. Have a variety on hand. Sometimes I vape something for an hour or two and then it doesn't taste good anymore, I switch to a contrasting flavor for an hour, and when I come back to the original.. it's great again.

I'm not much into flavors right now I have just been using the Classic or Red or whatever it is. Just since I started this thread both of my batteries have gone out, what a POS. Anyway thanks to all for the information I think I will go order the biggest batteries, 3 bottles of the strongest juice, and a refill kit at Smokeless Image and go back to working on my Bike.

Thanks JENerationX, I made a mistake and got confused, I meant to put people have reactions to PG sometimes.

No problem.... PG is actually used in asthma inhalers, so you would think nobody would have a reaction to it. Then again, nobody puffs their inhaler for hours at a time.

I wouldn't worry about which to use unless you're having a reaction. Most people are fine with both.

Sounds like a plan. There is a Smokeless Image forum here under forum suppliers. If you get a kit and have any questions, stop in there. It's monitored frequently by SI employees as well and they will take care of you.
