ok, pamela and I did ask for help once already. Regarding the terrorist cell living within our home!
So get this, Pamela and I take head terrorist number one, the puppy, to her first puppy training at pets Mart. All goes as expected, they laughed at us and called us idiots for accepting an obviously well trained subversive into our home.
Hanging our heads low we trot back home to our children, of which we only left for an hour, and of which the older ones were taking care of the younger ones quite well.
We pull up to the house, we live in the country, and lo and behold a Sheriff's car parked in our driveway search light on the front door.
Crap, what the heck now?????
Apparently while we had Osama, er I mean Coco at the petsMart for retraining and re-education, terrorists number 2 and 3, the 8 week old black kittens, with prior knowledge from their boss, the beforementioned puppy, walked across the kitchen phone, dialing 911 2 times in a row.
here I am, with a bonafide terrorist leader in my hands, a bunch of children peeking out the windows to see what all the commotion is, and one very nice, very large Deputy asking us why we called 911 2 times in a row.
I tried to eplain the terrorist foothold within our compound. Tried to explain why we asked for help from the government but they turned a blind eye our way and our pleas fell on deaf ears.
pamela, next to me says is that cop sitting in his car shaking his head and laughing at us?
and lo an behold, mr. officious, said large gun wearing officer, is sitting in his car shaking his head and laughing.

Ok happy Thanks Giving folks. We have dug in deep, can't wait to see the offensive these terorists throw at us when the bird comes out of the oven. Hope your day is peaceful and quiet, we are prepared to raise the white flag but not yet. Ab has promised help, we are dug in deep, running out of ammo and surrounded on all sides :)

Our tiny little Yorky set off our burglar alarm not too long ago and we got home to find THREE cop cars in our front yard!

My wife has a statue of a Greek lady standing in her flower garden and when the deputies pulled into the yard and saw the statue standing there in the dark they pulled guns on her! Seems she wouldn't turn around and put her hands over her head!

Adventures of life in the country.

That is too funny. You and Pam are now where I was a few years ago. My cats(had some rescues and some born here, at the time 11 cats in all) could smell the turkey or chicken as soon as I got out of the vehicle coming from the store. It was stilled wrapped in its original wrapping and of course not cooked yet. While wading thru all the meows and them trying to trip me so they could pounce on whatever I had in the bag of groceries, I figured if I made it up the stairs I was going to have to divert their attention elsewhere. Luckily we had some canned tuna and sardines. So to make a long story longer, I set about opening cans and finding food bowls and getting them to follow me outside. Whew that was close. Needless to say, we had always bought a bigger bird than we needed in order to share with them. The little hellions would get fed first so we could eat in peace. So the only advice I can offer is to try to outplan them. They have no sense of time so they will always try to convince you that it is time to eat.....even if you fed them 5 minutes earlier.
Good luck and I will smile when thinking about your delima(sp). Best thing to remember is they allow you to take care of them---that is just the cats opinion, of course.. And its a good thing you live in the country so you must have plenty of room. I also live on 5 acres in the middle of 37 acres of woods, so most of my animals were both inside and outside. But that was many years ago and some things have changed.
Eat, drink and enjoy the day.

   Happy Thanksgiving! Now is the time to train the kitties (I mean terrorists) to wait until after YOU get to eat your food before THEY get to eat your food! (I know. It didn't work for me either.)

We have a cat, aptly named Chienne (french for female dog... b*tch), that hated a friend of ours. One time she slunk around the edges of the room then perched on top of his duffle bag and waited until he was looking at her. While he was looking she snarled her lip at him and proceeded to pee on his bag all the while looking at him with those cold cat eyes. They never have gotten along but he got better about where he put down his stuff when he came over.

A friend, while we went on vacation, was taking care of our 5 cats. She got the bright I idea to take them home with her instead of driving to my house to check on them as we live in the country also. My oldest cat somehow managed to set her house alarm off. She said it scared the he!! out of her and her hubby. They were in bed. Maxy somehow managed to remove one of the window connectors which broke the signal going through it and consequently, set off the bullhorn on the side of the house, and automatically the police were called. Her husband called the police once they got it shutoff to tell them it was a false alarm however a deputy still came out to recheck everything. He was told what happened and my cat was arrested (not really). The deputy took Maxy back to headquarters to show everyone that there really is a cat burglar around. When we got home the next day, she told us what had happened, and that Maxy was in jail. I had to go to town to get her. The deputy gave her back. He said that they didn't have handcuffs small enought to fit her and everytime they put her in the cell, she escaped. Needless to say, she was more spoiled by all of this than she was before. So people who live in the country, be advised, there is a cat burglar in Kansas.

So glad to hear that TT. It was gettin tough trying to see you through all the mud, sweat and fried egg goo you had stuck on there. :)

Its my beautiful pet birds that do that. Well, I call them boney danged chickens. Because that's what they are.

Hey wv, your place sounds like mine. We have five acres of tree shaded yard with about 30 acres of woods all around us. My land I run cattle on is all outside that. That's why I use 4wheelers so much, I have to go through the woods to get to where they are.

Its a goofy set-up though. Too much yard to mow and the cows are further from the house than I'd like. But its what my wife wanted and planned. Need I say more?

Ok happy Thanks Giving folks. We have dug in deep, can't wait to see the offensive these terorists throw at us when the bird comes out of the oven. ....

That's just what I was thinking....lol....I came back from neighbors today with leftover turkey for my 4 cats and 1 dog. I barely set the bag down before my 19 yr old cat gets inside bag and and is ripping pieces off (she only has half her teeth) God help you with those young ones...

I've learned...I just got home from having Thanksgiving dinner with friends who sent me home with leftovers. The bag containing leftovers never touched the floor. If they had, FuzzyButt would have been all over it like white on rice!
