Hanging out in CA for now
Larry and I were out driving Tucson today taking pictures of houses. Fortunately nobody called the police on us. His great-grandmother was the first female to Homestead in her own name in Tucson. There's even a street named after her. She and her family built bunches of homes several of which are still around.

So we're heading to the last house and we were at the intersection of River Road and Grant. Anyone who knows Tucson will recognize that it's a really big, busy intersection. We were in the turn lane about 9 or 10 cars back. A blind gentleman attempted to cross the street from left to right in the crosswalk. He got as far as the left turn lane and had veered a little and ran into the first car in the turn lane and got turned around. Not one person got out and helped him. Then the light turned green and he was caught in the middle between oncoming traffic and the traffic turning. I was flabbergasted. Larry put the truck in park, stopped and ran up in to the light past all the cars and got him across the road with cars honking at him all the way. I know there are a lot of scammers out there but this guy was most definitely blind. And when traffic started streaming all around him, he was scared to death.

Next thing I know Larry is leading him to our truck. Come to find out he's only been in town about a month and was actually living about 6 miles down on Grant. He'd been heading in the wrong direction. He said he had asked several people where he was over the course of the past couple of hours and no one would give him the time of day and he was totally lost. Now granted he was missing most of his teeth and after we dropped him off we lysoled the truck cause he didn't smell real good. But I just couldn't believe no one could be bothered to get the poor guy out of the intersection.

I sure do love my hubby! OK, end of my rant. I feel much better. Thanks y'all for listening. :)

Will do SC. He's usually a quiet guy so I brag on him. Back in Texas he's a Volunteer Fire Fighter. He went through the training and got certifed as an Intermediate Firefighter and Basic National Cert as an EMT. It was hilarious during the training cause there were a lot of young-uns complaining high and low. He looks young and none of them realized that Larry was 54 (he's 59 now) at the time. He was running circles around them.

I'm not sure Chillin me being from Texas and all. There were a couple of other people that entered the crosswalk at the same time as him when it turned but the others weren't with him and walked on across. He had plenty of time to make it except he veered out of the lines and ran smack dab into the drivers door of the first car in line waiting to turn.
