All of us at one time or another has been pulled over for total BS.

I stopped and thought about that. In my 28 years of driving, I can count the times I've been pulled over on one hand and all of them were for something I did (speeding) or failed to do (signaling).

I have totally dodged some bullets! Which is cool because I am usually a target for trouble, lol!:p

I am Hispanic and of course my son, when he gets a tan looks like an illegal. He was working in a facory that makes those big cement pipes they use underground for water drainage. He was on the night shift and was coming home at 3 in the morning. A cop stopped him for no reason he could give my son. J.R. got out of his car and gave permission for the cop to do a seach and when the officer saw his big tote bag..his eyes lit up! He asked..what's in there? J.R. said just my lunch and a jacket Sir. When the cop saw all the plastic bowls with watermelon seeds and leftover soup..he cracked up and sent my son on his way.
J.R. has been told to be polite, co-operate and be truthful to the police, it stood him in good stead because with his head band on (to keep cement out of his hair) and his grungy outfit..he looked like a thug.
But I was still livid that he was stopped by this hick town cop for racial profiling!!!
I will never drive through AZ because I don't have a green card since I was born in Denver..but I look like a Mexican abuela. (Old lady/grandma). This profiling of American citizens is appalling! I do understand that the illegals are out of hand all over..but some hispanics were born here! Some have more generations of Americans then some blueboods!
We need to come down hard on the employers and enforce the laws that are already in effect.
Glow, I am sorry you had trouble, it's scary as heck. But you didn't do anything to be stooped for..so it's the cop's bad. But you do need to carry your bona fides at all times! LOL The e-cigs a bit new..so cards for those too.

Thanks MK! If someone were driving and smoking a crack pipe I would be glad they stopped them so I am not mad they stopped us. Just wish it hadn't have gone so badly. Honestly we usually drive a newer car and have all the papers in it and it never have a problem. I blame my dads used funky car we were driving and the fact we were vaping. We looked suspicious and I didn't handle it well. But I wanted to let everyone know so they can be a bit smoother then I.

Here's my story on me and my husband being profiled. My husband has long hair, a beard and wears t-shirts with the sleeves cut off. He smells wonderful and has great legs but to some he looks a bit "rough". We are at the local Sam's club looking at some furniture. A "undercover" employee followed us all over engaging us in conversation. Saying the stuff we looked at was quite expensive. I guess she's thinking we look like trash or why would she say that? At the time we thought she was a shopper like us. We shop a bit more, all the while we're wondering why this lady is everywhere we are. We get in line to check out. We had about $500 worth of stuff. She walks to a register grabs her name tag and turns her light on to start checking out customers. My husband and I were floored! I asked her why she was following us around the store and she said she wasn't. I complained to the manager but he acted like it was nothing. I have not been in there since! And I won't either. When it's time to renew my membership I will not! We went to a big name furniture store in OKC and basically the same thing happend when we were buying new furniture. So the profiling happens for more than color of skin because I've been thru it myself. BTW-my husband and I are NOT poor and make a nice living. He just refuses to fit the mold of what people "think" he should look like!

Yeah my man is long haired and has tattoo's, is hispanic and irish and just looks like a bad guy. When I met him I thought "crap, I shouldn't be attracted to this bad man". He is a real sweetheart though. Never raised his voice to me or the kids once a couldn't be a more honest person. What are ya gonna do? Thank god we live in American and get to go into court and prove we were insured. Some countries don't have that so i guess I will just be grateful.

I met my husband when he was 16 and I was 18 so he didn't hardly have peach fuss much less a beard  He didn't start looking "gruff" until a few years back. He's in a band so that explains most of it ;)

Great news glow! So did they ask about the e-cig at all?

No it was never mentioned. We didn't actually get to go to court, they dismissed it at the clerks as soon as we showed them the insurance papers.

I am sure they saw it.......I don't know. They had no reason to pull us over. I am assuming the ecig was the reason, coulda been my hubbys appearance. Coulda been the two combined. Anyways, always carry your insurance card and keep your ecig explanation papers at the ready and don't do what I did, which was acted scared and guilty (I really thought they would think it was drugs and take it/charge us).

Learn from my mistake!:p
