Ok we got our Ego! A couple of more questions for you wonderful people!

Ok, thanks to all the great responses in my first thread, we returned a crappy South Beach ecig and got an Ego. What a difference in vapor quantity and throat hit! Thanks again everyone.

But I'm confused on a couple of things. The cartridges appear to have a jelly substance. I'm assuming this is the nicotine element. Not exactly juice. The directions say to 'drip 2 or 3 drops of liquid into the atomizer for a better feeling'.

1) So, is the 2 or 3 drops the ejuice the directions refer to? And why would I need liquid, or juice, if I'm using a cartridge with a petroleum jelly like substance in it?

2) Can I use the atomizer with drips of juice (don't have at this point) with an empty cartridge?

3) What does it mean when someone says that around 7 puffs equal 1 analog? Is an analog an entire real cigarette, or one good puff from a real cigarette?

Thanks I know you'll all have me straight here soon.

This thing is great! I think it might work for my wife. Nothing else has helped for her so far.

jelly substance - don't know what that could be other juice in the cart, can it be wicked away with a tissue? Yes you can use dripping on the atomizer
7 to 1 add hipe - everyone tries to compare to regular cigs, but there is no real measurement.
and yes, it sounds like your charger is working correctly = red=charging, green=vap on.

2 or 3 drops of e juice. If all you have is prefilled, then blow out the atty's really good to get the primer out, then pop a cart on and remember that the first several hits will not be a true indication of how well it works or how it tastes.

I hope you got more carts or some juice on the way. I would go with juice, carts will get to be annoying.

Never seen a jelly like pre filled........ Maybe it's just thick or looks that way because of the filler.

Yes to dripping your own juice in an empty. Just clean it out, refresh the filler material (or use some kind of mod like the blue foam for aquarium filters) and fill with juice.

An analog is just a way of saying cigarette. As in since these are "digital" cigarettes, then old school cigarettes are "analog" haha

Good luck and go put in a juice order RIGHT NOW!!! ;)

Hi jtravers, congrats on the ego purchase!

first things first, is to blow out the atomizers WELL before use - they have a shipping fluid in them that is rather icky when vaped and can throw off the experience
charge the batteries
the carts <cartridges> are preloaded with ejuice, what you are probably seeing is the poly-filler that is used as a medium - this is what wicks the juice to the atty
you will have plenty of time to buy other juices, and it is fun and cheaper than going the route of pre-filled carts
yes, you can drip with an empty cart
the puffs equal to an analog is a general comment, feel free to ignore

Ok. On closer inspection, what appeared to be jelly in a semi dark room with Halloween movies on, is actually a wet foam in a bright light. So now I understand. The foam has drops of ejuice. Being a nicorette chewer, I find the liquid quite good straight.

lol

No, one of the cartridges came out of the packaging a bit wet, and that juice is might tasty for me, coming from a deep south heritage of chew in my early days.

One more thing. When I screw the battery into the charger, the light is green until it gets tight. Then the battery light flashes 5 times, and the charger light goes red. If I loosen it slightly, the light is green. So I'll assume when tight it's charging? It's been about 30 minutes and still red. I would have thought it came fully charged.

Time to order some juice!

From everything I've read, the batteries are supposed to come at least partially charged but it sounds like yours may not be. We vaped alot in the first few hours and decided to recharge and it took only about an hour or so - the light on the adapter will turn green when it's done. The flashing light is definitely an indicator of a low or drained battery.

Make sure that you don't try to vape on the cart that came attached to your eGo - that's empty and would be a problem for your equipment.

Well I'm not sure why the atomizer would require a wet foam resistance to work (or not break). And one person said they alternate between a liquid for a few puffs, and an empty one so as not to get too much nicotine. Does this mean the empty one is a foam with drips of water?

I think I plugged cartridges into both attys, one momentarily. So now I'm worried that I'm wasting precious juice! Blowing them out anyway.

Hit is amazing. My wife just has no excuse now. And I'm licking the residue from cleaning the attys from my fingers.

Ok that is pathetic... but not cancerous so who cares.

This is so amazing. Who came up with this...

Gonna save alot of lives. (and money?) Let's hope.

One would hope that's the case. I can already see that this is getting more attention from those who stand to lose money if people get off of analogs and stop trying to quit using the patch, chantix, and nicorette gum. If the government can find a way to profit, that may be the only way - let's hope that enough of us can put pressure and it will be important to stay on top of what they are doing to curb this.

Oh no, don't do that. That would taste NASTY, and not good for you atomizer either.

Uh. In quick contemplation I can't see special interests finding a way to squash this.

So the atomizer vapes with a completely empty cartridge, but can be damaged if this is done. It requires a wet foam resistance even though the nicotine is clinging to the already created vapor? Once the vapor leaves the atomizer and goes into the foam, the atomizer is done. So that means there is a backwash into the atomizer that is beneficial for it.

So dripping juice, into the foam in the cartridge, or into the atomizer? Good practice to keep the inside of the atomizer moist?

Edit: This depends on whether the air that is atomized is coming into the atty from the front or the back. Or maybe it circulates a few times. Safe to just keep it moist I suppose.
