I ordered some manual batteries from Cignot. They started working on their own...that is they just burned and burned. Very scary, I thought they might set the house on fire.

Terry from cignot was a champ. She replaced the batteries, but state that it wasn' t common for a batt to fail in that manner.

Now, the replacement batts are doing the same thing. Is it me? I've used 2 chargers and replaced the attys.

Let me state that I am a very heavy vaper. No battery has ever lasted as long as you here tell me it should.

HELP

Something doesn't sound right, especially since they were replaced and the replacements are doing the same thing. First, are you sure you are not tightening the atty on the batt too tight, it should only be snug. Also, can you tell if the button on the battery is sticking "on" when you push it and returning to the off position on its own?

It is not impossible that there may be a bad batch of batteries out there, but not very likely.

Tell her you're a complete newb at this (thats not meant to be offensive btw lol) and let her talk you through every step. She's very patient, and knows her product backwards so make sure you give her every little detail about what you're doing and anything you're not sure about. I doubt its a batch of bad batteries (though its possible you have an issue with something on the hardware side) and is more likely new user error. Don't feel bad about that - it took me 10 mins when my 510 arrived to work out how to attach the pre-filled cart and I thought mine was 'broken' when in fact i just couldn't see the join between cart it arrived with and the atty as they are both matte black :D
I felt a bit silly after I worked it out but we all do this stuff when we're new.

I´ve also heard a lot about batteries failing. I´m guessing that these things are not yet as developed as they could be

I just had my manual battery i got on the 17th of March from Cignot go bad. I explained to Terri what i was doing and how it is bad and after a couple of emails she is replacing it and sending it out with my order for the Extended and a new atty!

question on the charging of the batteries. i read the directions and after the first charge it seems that i only need to let them charge til the light turns green on the wall charger? is this right. sometimes even when the battery is completely dead, it will only take about 30 mins. for it to turn green?

It would be quite pointless to do so. Unless a charger is broken, when the green light goes on, it stops charging the battery. And if it doesn't, it might actually do damage to the battery. Also, with Li-Io it would not matter if a battery were used when not fully charged, that is a problem with NiCd and to a lesser extrent NiMH that simply does not affect Li-Io batteries.

Check out Do and don't battery table and if you are interested the rest of Battery University.

had not realized that fully running the battery dead could hurt it between charges. thats what i have been doing.

I also got a bad battery from cignot (March 21 black manual with purple led) I have had the replacement for 2 days and it is working ok so far.

the defective one was not always on but was blinking and blinking worked briefly then blinking and blinking (no electricity to atomizer when blinking) and after 2-3 charges stopped holding a charge and then went dead. i did have an always on runaway overheating auto battery from a brand x "clean cig" which melted down when i dripped juice into the auto hole.

From what i can tell, as batteries run down it seems they take less time to charge and of course also hold less charge. If its charging from dead in 20 minutes then it probably doesn't hold a full charge.

I have never had a manual battery that fired by itself. Maybe there is something in the button area that is catching and keeping it on. Might be a manufacturing issue. I would certainly return the problem batteries to Cignot and let them see if they can figure out the issue. They are great ladies and always willing to help!
