Don't know about 38 mm length, but standard cartos are 35 mm. If you don't need the extra 3mm, try this

Gosh, I dunno. It's perfectly flush with the top of the tank when installed, and I measured it at exactly 38mm. Would 35 be an utter disaster?

I just love this tank - it's one if those theecig glass minis with chrome caps - but I can't help but wonder why they made it in such a ridiculous sort of size . . . ?
Does anybody, by any chance, have one of these?

Who makes the tank? Is it glass or pyrex? Does it use o-rings?
Edit: Ah, never mind. Ok, so maybe I'm missing something here, but it appears that theecig offers replacement cartos (w/flange) for the glass tanks. Is that not what you have, or are you looking for something cheaper?

Oh, sorry. I skipped the backstory because it didn't seem terribly relevant.
The tank did come with a carto, but it was DOA, and of some no-name type. I wrote to the vender inquiring about other brands, but apparently the generic ones are all they have, and he didn't offer to replace the dead one.
At this point, I'm trying very hard to put together a very simple, good-quality set-up that won't break every five minutes, so buying a ....-load of crappy cartos to go with the new mod and tank seem like rather a self-defeating idea.
Does that make sense?
My smoktech XL dual coil cartos that go with the DCT's measure 44-45mm from flange to tip. I have no idea whether the flange will be the same size as the one that came with your tank- but it should not matter, unless you are dead-set on having an exact fit for your tank.
Personally, I would avoid any carto's that are not tried and tested- even if it screws with the aesthetics of your tank. I also wouldn't recommend shorter cartos, as you will run the risk of not being able to seat the tank selas on the new carto- 3mm might not seem like a lot, but the entire cap is only 5mm wide on my tanks, with the rubber o-ring in the middle of that.
Longer cartos *should* work just fine for you- the XL's come in single- or dual-coil.

I'm currently using a Smoketech SC 45mm with the little tank, and it works just fine. It's really just the aesthetics of it all that bother me!
I'm not a big shopper or anything, and not at all prone to buying gadgets every other day. In fact, I rarely buy anything whatever, besides horse feed and gas for the tractor. So if I actually spend hours researching stuff, and then shell out 200 bucks for a bunch of components that I finally decide might be just right, then, yeah, a goofy little thing like that will bug me no end.
(Considering all the ills in the world, this is pretty silly, I know.
Ah, well. At the end of the day, human beings always seem to come out looking like pretty silly animals all around.)

I gave up looking for the short (regular single coil) cartos pre-punched. It is worth my time to punch my own. I dont have this punch but it looks nicer than what I use ice maker hose punch thingy. Siam mods Carto Punch | Siam Accessories & Parts | Siam Mods | Vaperite.com
I am a small woman (100lbs wet) and I have tiny hands (size 2 1/2 rings) so yeah, if I can operate the hoopty hose clampy one then I would think that nice one would be easier. Just be careful not to make make the hole too large.
I have an ego thread cover. Ego Chrome Cone for Tanks and Large Cartomizers - $2.99 : Stormys Vapor Cellar, Electronic Cigarettes & More it seems to keep my 3 ml homemade tank from slipping on my ego. I do have problems if I dont use it and it just looks silly without the thread cover not leaking but sliding. They also make a larger cover for the 6ml tanks.
