Old Atomizers...a new use?

Not sure if anyone else has come up with this before, but i figured i'd throw it out there.

I had a small stockpile of used and abused atomizers sitting in my closet, and last night i decided to take one apart. After i took notice that the ceramic core was charred beyond all belief, I saw the metal meshing used to house it. I know people have posted about metal mesh before, but this stuff works fantastic. After folding it neatly and stuffing it into my 510 atty I filled it with 11 drops of liquid. I was able to puff on it for quite awhile with no leaking and awsome vapor production. When i refilled it it took 10 drops to refill.. Thats pretty badass numbers in my opinion. I hope someone finds this usefull. I can post pictures if anyone wants a visual=)

Pictures would be awesome! I don't have any dead atty's because I just started on this journey but I know I will in the future so this would be really great to see for sure. Great idea!

Just a note on the nickel mesh. As you probably already know, you need to handle it VERY carefully. It is easy to "crush", and once you do, it's ability to hold and/or wick liquid gets diminished or destroyed.

It's pretty neat stuff though.....

You should gather enough to fill an atty and a cart to match it!!! That would be awesome! And would require pics.

I was just going to glue my dead atty's into a stick man or something.

I have about 10 dead 801 atty's and if anybody wants them (in the U.S.), send me $5 for postage and they're yours. PM me if interested.

Once i find my digital camera i'll post pictures ^.^ Its really quite simple.

I like using them for mods. They are all backward compatible with another model. It seems they all have one of two thread patterns. 510 and 306-401, 901-4081. They can also be used to make chargers for the mod batteries, they take longer to charge but are still free.

Thanks for the tip on the mesh, I have been throwing it out.

PLEASE post pics, cuz i'm not sure I understand...Are you using the mesh to fill a cart (in place of polyfill or PTB etc,) or are you putting old mesh into a NEW atomizer? Or skipping cart filling altogether and filling atty with mesh and e-juice while using a BLANK/empty cart?

If you never cleaned the atty, cleaning very well may help. Or if you have try again.

Try Crest Pro Mouthwash.

I had 3 stop working, poured everclear directly in the atyy and shook, 3 times each. Blew from each end a couple times and let them drain overnight. 2 are working again. Will do the 3rd one again to give it another shot!!!!

This is definitely worth a try. I have several dead atomizers in a ziplock bag. Where do you get the mesh. I would also love to see a picture of this showing how this is done. Do you take the charred mesh out.

Sorry guys, the OP is unavailable for further comment. I do recall older threads of members using this mesh....they say it's great. If I come acoss any, I'll post the links here but for now, this is closed since the OP can't answer any of your questions.
