Old ex-vaper needs advice on new models to come back

Hi guys!


I vaped for 1-2 years but havent done so for a while.
At the time I stoped they were just releasing the coil system, I used to vape an Ego-T and was pretty happy with it.
But now it seems Ego-T was discontinued, at least I cant find any at healthcabin were I used to buy ecigs.


I'm so lost I dont even know how many parts an Ecig has nowadays, my ego-T had a battery, atty and tube for juice, now every model I check at healthcabin has a ton of stuff I'm not familliar with like rebuildable atomizer, i-tank, and so on.

I tried checking some kits so I could just buy something with all the parts like I did with my Ego-T but the only mid-sized kits at healthcabin right now are with clearomizers and I'm not familiar with that.


I would apreciate any advice on what to buy, I just want something simple like my ego-t was, and it seems I need info on what parts to buy nowadays to put together an ecig since there is so many options.

Nowadays, the typical starter kits include either a Spinner (Vision) or Twist (Joytech) eGo battery (both variable voltage). A dial at the end of the battery works like a dimmer switch to be able to adjust the voltage to suit your tastes. (Its there if you wish to use it; you don't have to use it but its really worth experimenting with.)



Clearomizers are the most common juice attachment for starter setups now. They use silica string wicks to feed e-liquid to a heating coil head. Some are top coil, some are bottom coil. Both have coil heads which can be replaced every 2 - 3 weeks as needed ($2 - $3 each) so that the entire tank doesn't need to be discarded when the heads go bad.

Hi aresius, I also am recently back to vaping and yes alot of things have changed. I use the Halo Triton and the Halo G6 (808). I like the G6 cig-a-likes with mini tanks to use at work and public. But for home I use the Halo Triton with the Triton tanks, these batteries are vGo threaded for the larger tank also they are 808 threaded to use cartomizers and the mini tanks. I like one stop shopping. Also you can get an 808 to 510 adapter to use the glass Protank Mini II for harsher juices that can crack a regular tank.

I hope you have an easier time than I have the 2nd time around. It was easy to quit the first time but this time has been real hard on the tastebuds, even more of a rollar coaster ride than before.

Innokin iTaste VV (V3) Express kit - 101 Vape

That is about the size of the ego, but it is lighter, and it offers variable voltage/wattage functions. That may seem a bit more complicated, but I can keep out the stuff involved with ohms law by just saying, adjust it until you're satisfied with your vape. The great thing about these is that they'll keep a constant output until your battery is about to die.

A clearomizer is just an atomizer inside of a tank. I really don't like recommending them, because they're not my preference and may require more trouble shooting than necessary. I started out with an Ego-T kit with dripping atomizers. I went to variable voltage 14500 mod with a cartomizer(atomizer contained inside of a wick that is inside of a tube) tank, and soon graduated up to rebuildable atomizers(you build the coil and use whatever wick you would like) and mechanical mods(unregulated battery capable of putting power levels depending on your coil's resistance and battery's charge).

I recommend starting with cartotanks. There are a lot of options, but IBTanked are regarded as the highest quality tanks, but they are cheap for the quality you get.

If you go with an ego+510 device, like the itaste vv3, you may want a collar/plinth.

I use 3-hole, 3-ohm smoktech cartomizers from smoktek.com, but with the vv 3.0, I recommend sticking around 2ohms to get the best range out of your battery.
Single Coil XL Tank replacement 510 cartomizer for 3.5 and 6ml SmokTank XL, UDCT, Artemas - w/flange and 1, 2 or 3 holes.

That is all you need to get started, outside of liquid(don't know if you can get anything I use down there), but I highly recommend these drip tips for carto tanks:
Knucklehead Drip Tip- 510/901/KR808d-1, Delrin, white or black

oh, and these drip atomizers will blow away the performance out of the ones you use to use...

I second carto tanks for less trouble shooting. Since I switched, I spend far less time on my equipment the. I do on my husbands and my mother in laws equipment. Once a carto goes bad, I toss it. I don't bother cleaning it. Of course, I can do the same with the Protank coils I'm constantly cleaning for my husbands and mother in laws Mini Protanks, but just the fact that they can be cleaned and saved has me spending a great deal of time a least once a week doing so. I can't help it. Regardless of the fact that they're cheaper then my cartos, I need to try and save them. Of course, build up isn't all that happens to those coils though. There are also mystery wicking issues and leaking issues. I'm a tinkerer by nature, and rather then switching out the coil, I need to solve the mystery.

That said, such mysteries happen less with mini Protanks then with other clearos, if that is, indeed, the direction you want to go. If your a tinkerer by nature as well, you may enjoy learning to rebuild Protank coils as well, which can be easily done, and it's something I'm considering. I may not have a lot of time to do so, but if I did, I'd be playing around a lot more then I am.
For my busy lifestyle however, switching myself to something that gives a consistently great taste (better then clearos), and is generally leak and troubleshoot free was kind of essential, hence carto tanks. Quality ones anyway, as what I hear about the cheaper ones isnt very good. IBTanked is the best bang for the buck that I've found. Quality, thick, Pyrex with customizable options

Get an evod or mini protank 2 as your tank. For battery get an ego or an itaste vv3. Itaste vv3 has a micro USB slot for charging and you can dial in the taste / flavor since its vv/ vw. The evod is super easy to use and has great performance.

There are variants on what tank to use and whatnot but if you just go with a regular battery and an evod you'll be happy.

cartos are good less to maintain. just have to prime them right which i learned the hard way. but then it worked superb. i like my clearomizers but thats just my liking. i'd recommend what everyone has already said. ego's or spinners, but i like my variable watt/ volt style mods. iTaste vv 3.0 is a great mod. slim and pocket friendly like an ego but has the watts an volts feature. i personally like them a little heavier and with more of a solid feel to me. i've had ego's snap in half in my pocket like two weeks after i bought them so i scratched those and got me a Innokin SVD. you could knock someone out with this thing ( dont do that ) and it can check resistance on all your tanks so you dont have to worry about burning out a tank.
