Whew, after lurking and reading these forum threads for many hours/days, I decided to do the intro thing.

I am a nic addict for over forty years, first cigs/cigars, then dip and chew or even a pipe or five a week, sometimes more than one of each at the same time! From my reading here and with some advice from some vape dudes I have met, I pulled the trigger and ordered up a Zmax V5 kit, a couple of extra Aspire BDC's with a few extra coils and an extra 18500 battery (total of three batteries) just to get started. The juice will be purchased locally since I will probably be able to try them and I have no clue what I might like. I am not a foo-foo sweet kind of guy as far as I can guess from my lifestyle, but who knows with this new to me hobby. Since I have plenty of time, I will probably, at some point get into tinkering with rebuildables.

After todays research, Back-up! I will be looking for another charger and some more substantial toppers since I am an outdoor kind of guy. Maybe a holster for the many times travelling by bike. As we say in the cigar forums, "it is a slippery slope"

I wouldn't rule out any "tastes." I thought I wouldn't like fruit flavors or (ick) coffee flavors, and now I am in love with both. Lucky you that there is a vape store where you can try out different juices. I had to hunt and peck via online vendors to find things I liked. Another thing to bear in mind is that as you get farther and farther away from cigs you will taste things better and differently than now. So you may find that there are lots and lots of flavors you will love. I started with a couple of flavors that were "tobacco-y," and can't stand the taste of them now.

Welcome to the forum. I am old, too!!!

IMHO: I had an aspire bdc and had a horrible experience with it. I still have it in the "vape box" collecting dust. you may like it and have a great experience with it, I just didn't. I choose a kanger aerotank which is also dual coil, but the vape I got from it was better to me.

Welcome Fuzzy!

Congrats on your choice to join the Vaping Victors :)

I completely agree on your decision to try juices before you buy. You may even come to find what you like today won't be what you like next week/month/year. I was a menthol smoker for about 25 years, and I do NOT care for tobacco-flavored (w/ or w/o menthols). That's just *MY* personal preference. I do like the iciness from menthol being added to some of my flavors - who knows, that may change for me down the road too. The beauty of this is that there are so many variations out there (I haven't gotten to DIY juices yet - I just started rewicking/rebuilding my EVOD heads) that the sky is the limit.

I wish you happy journeys

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

After I actually get my gear in hand and do some experimenting, I will be looking for better options like metal tanks and ways to safely transport the gear while riding, hiking and camping.

Hi Fuzzy welcome to ECF. It looks like you've done your research well you should be happy with what arrives.

Reading that your into Biking and the out doors I thought you might like something like this in the future.

I have half a dozen Aspire BDE ES tanks. Love them and never had even one that was bad in any way. I had awful experiences with Protanks even though everyone else seems to love them. Everyone is different, I guess.

I guess when I have the proper post count, I will have to post up some reviews from a noobie point of view. Not sure they will be worth much with such a limited exposure to what is available.

Thanks, Hijack for giving the advice. I have already been looking at the VTR for a belt carry when riding.

True! I just prefer the wicking ability of the aerotank. And I have evods, ismokas, aspire, etc etc... I like my kayfun better than all of them though

Welcome to the world of vaping! It is a pleasurable ride, even for us older salts...
Sounds a lot like me, lots of research and reading done before diving in. I think it's a good way to get the feet wet.

You said that you were thinking about getting another charger...might I offer a suggestion. Find a Nitecore Intellicharger I2 or I4. Really good investment, I absolutely love mine. Puts a full charge on an 18650 in a little over three hours, lots of nice features with the unit. JMHO.

Welcome to arguably the best source of information on the internet regarding everything to do with this path. As a 30 year smoker I can say you made the greatest of choices. Don't discount any flavor profile yet.
What I liked the first few weeks of the switch is definitely not the same now. Not that I don't still enjoy them, just not even close to my level of enjoyment of the flavors I swap between now.
