Hi all. I have a question. Does anyone know if it is OK to use the new Kanger Subtank on the Kamryk101?
Sorry satkins - Welcome to you as well. Just waking up here in EST zone
The K101 is a MECHANICAL mod, which means it's up to *YOU* to be safe by picking an appropriate battery than can handle the resistance of the coil in the Subtank. The voltage will decrease as the battery discharges through use. You need to make sure that the battery you're using can handle the current draw.
Quick primer on Ohm's Law: Voltage = Current * Resistance. What's important to you is Current = Voltage / Resistance. You need to figure out how many Amps (current) is being pulled every time you fire your mod. Presume a fully-charged battery has a voltage level of 4.2. Let's assume you have the 0.5 ohm head (or you've MEASURED YOUR BUILD to 0.5 ohms.)
Current being pulled by your battery is 4.2V / 0.5Ω = 8.4 Amps. Batteries have a discharge rating, but YOU MUST KNOW what the correct discharge rating is. Some batteries advertise one number, but in reality it's a MAXIMUM discharge rating. Efest batteries usually list their MAX, not their CONTINUOUS rating. If you try to overdrive your battery, you are headed for a world of hurt.
Please read through the blogs published by a gent named Baditude: E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs
They discuss terminology, Ohm's and Watt's Laws and give recommendations for SAFE batteries to use in devices. You need to make sure you use HIGH DRAIN batteries. There are some newer batteries that have come out since he's published these blogs. Samsung-R25 batteries get positive comments as far as safety is concerned.
I use regulated mods, and don't push too many limits, so I'm not and end-all/be-all resource.
Good Luck and be safe!
